I-Introverted
Registering a score of Introversion (16%) over Extroversion on the test shows that I have a slight tendency towards being an introvert as opposed to being an extrovert. This means that I am moderately more inclined towards being intuitive versus sensing. As the webpage explains, this particular category has to do with how one gathers information. The website describes a person who scores higher on Intuition as being better at “coming up with new ways of doing things, thinking about future implications and seeing the big picture…” (The Four Preferences). Again, this test seemed to be quite accurate in it’s assessment of me being that I am in fact very big picture oriented. An example of this personality trait is when I was going through training for my sales job. The trainer wanted to teach me one step at a time and kept telling me to not worry about everything else that I would learn down the road. The frustrated me, largely because I wanted to see the big picture, and so I was continually asking the trainer about things that he hadn’t covered yet. It was much easier for me to learn the material when I knew how it fit in relation to the rest of the context. Finally, when approaching my job in sales, or any other task, my favorite thing to do is try and find a new and better way of getting the job done. While it is encouraging to read that I have personality traits that have potential to produce a good leader, I would also have to add that leadership is the area in which I need to work on the most on. Through past experience, I can definitely say that my personality trait of Introversion tends to take over and overshadow my other traits. Even the website makes the point that “INTJs spend a lot of time inside their own minds, and may have little interest in the other people’s thoughts or feelings” (Portrait of an INTJ). In my situation, I have the tendency the keep too much inside and don’t vocalize
