Participants
There will be a classroom of 40 students at Fullerton College that will participate in this study. Participants will include male and female college students of different ages and ethnicities.
Measures
Written questionnaires were used to collect data.
Research Design The subjects were placed into conditions that were manipulated. The independent variable is the level of physical attractiveness. It is a between-subjects design and the subjects will be assigned to conditions through random assignment.
Materials and Procedure In the beginning of the study, a consent form will be handed out to the college students.
After, the consent forms will be collected and the information will be kept confidential. Next, each college student will be given a big envelope containing a short scenario with one manipulated variable, a questionnaire, and demographics. The college students will be told to take the paper on the short scenario out of the envelope and they will be given approximately 5 minutes to read the paragraph. Following, the college students will be told to put the short scenario back into the envelope and they will be asked to pull out the questionnaire and demographic handouts from the big envelope. They will be given around 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire and demographics. Then, the college students will be told to put the questionnaire and demographic handouts back into the big envelope. Afterward, we will collect the big envelopes from each college student. A full debriefing will then follow and finally we will thank the participants for their time and value their participation before we exit the classroom.

It was a rare phenomenon but at the same time brought back home the point that students and parents, who are informed, possibly with help by a school counselor, explored the college fair as a proactive experience and seemed more confident and excited about their application process leaving the…
