I chose the poem “Metaphors” by Sylvia Plath because the poem seemed familiar to me. I then remembered I read this poem in my senior class. My teacher was pregnant at the moment and she decided to give us this specific poem. Metaphors is rich in figurative language. All lines have a hidden meaning or require a little bit of thinking. At first when I read the poem I was a little confused. Later, with the simple clues given I discovered that it was about a pregnant woman.
