Lionel Andres Messi was born on June 24, 1987. Messi was born in Rosario, Argentina to his parents Jorge and Celia Messi. Messi had two older brothers, Matias and Rodrigo, and a sister, Maria Sol. Lionel’s father worked as the manager of a metal company full time, while his mother cleaned part time. At age five Messi joined Grandoli his father’s local youth soccer team.
