Mentor Report Aero Chan
Mentoring Report

It’s my pleasure to meet and get along with this mentor, Aero Chan. He is nice man who really provides lots of opinions on my further learning and the future career.

I am not sure about what major program should I choose for master degree if I want to gain a better job. Aero shared me that the real job of human resources relies on a higher proportion of job experience instead of the education level. Aero also shared me with lots of job content and job experiences with me. For example, being a human resource officer, the major job content is mainly center on the routine work like generating the table or report of employee performances and calculating employee salary based on the different job level and the performance level.

Of the following functional areas of human resources, I would highly consider a career in training and development. Being an administrator at my current place of employment I get to touch on some of the aspects that are important in this area. For instance, upon hiring of an employee I already orient them to the office as well as the position they will be filling; answering any questions they may have about the company. I also participate in skills training, ensuring that if I myself am not the person training then they are partnered with a person that is knowledgeable in that area to help the new employee become more proficient. Two skills that I will need to develop in order to be successful is to better develop career development programs to help insure the employee has a clear understanding of the tasks at hand as well as the tasks within the office. I am also a firm believer in…
