Meningitis Narrative
12 years ago I was diagnosed with Meningitis, they caught it just in time. I hadn’t ever seen my mom that scared, I still haven’t. At the time my mom was going to be turning 20, we were still living with my grandparents and my 17 year old uncle. I was playing upstairs with my uncle when I suddenly passed out, all the color drained from my face, he picked me up and ran downstairs. I was driven to the emergency room. 30 minutes away. They told us what I had and that if we had waited even two more hours they don’t know if they could’ve saved me. I remember my mom staying in the hospital with me, I would tell her I would be okay. I always tried to stay positive. The nurses brought me this huge video game console, I thought I was the luckiest kid
