Life at its craziest points

Have you ever looked back at times in your life that you would give anything to rewind and alter? Everyone has those memories that have the million different scenarios in their head that could of ended it better. Although there are some really foolish things I have done in my time here that I would love to go back and kick myself for, I wouldn't change a thing. With the mistakes we make and all the unwise decision making that goes on, it also gives us very important life lessons that hopefully gets used in the next time around.

In a small town of Indiana, it's hard to keep yourself occupied without thinking outside the box. Well for fun during the summers, we used to go cliff jumping at a local dam call Missinawa. Although it was illegal because it is extremely unsafe, my friends and I would always make it a habit a couple times a week. Generally, we always take turns jumping or give each other room so nobody is colliding. Well one time, a friend went with us that doesn't always make the brightest decisions, that should have been an indicator right there. He thought it hilarious to land near me shortly after I jumped, but instead of landing near me he landed directly on top of me! I was unconscious in the water and my bathing suit top found its way of my body also. I remember waking up with blurry vision and shaking very badly not knowing where I was for a few minutes. I also had blood coming out of my mouth and nose, and my hands and feet were a purplish tint! My friends very quickly rushed me to the emergency room where I had to stay overnight. I later found out I had multiple concussions and a possible blood clot. The boy who landed on me came by the hospital a few times while I was there, and bought me flowers and a balloon to “make up” for his stupid mistake. My aunt actually kicked him out the first time but not before making a huge scene and having the security called. Although

One of the choices I made would be to be a more caring and helpful person. I was always both caring and helpful, but just sometimes and to certain people. I really like helping people and caring for them, I know it makes them happy, so it makes me happy. Even though I have a lot going on in my life, I like to be a caring person; it helps everyone out a little bit. If I could tell everyone in the world one thing, it would be: “Do things to your best ability and help those that need help, or a…

It was summer time and I was wearing my West Scranton football shorts and shirt, it was a normal day in the summer I was sitting in my living room with the air conditioner turned all the way down to 60 to get a cool breeze. I was watching Iron man but I really was not that into I kept drifting off and thinking what I should do with my day. My older brothers Shawn and Anthony came to the door around 2 in the afternoon and asked me if I wanted to go swimming. I quickly galloped up the stairs and asked my mother if I could go, she said yeah just be safe. So we left and went to a place called the “Rez” it was a place where high school and college kids go to jump off rocks and have a good time, it was a nice area surrounded by…

It had been a few days since the occurrence of the incident on June 10th. In these few days after the event, I feel both physically tormented and emotionally distressed. It might have been the shock of the event that I unconsciously undermined the physical impact that the fall, tumble and rolling has on my body. The following morning after the incident, purple bruises surfaced in the left knee area, muscle pain and soreness on my left arm and both legs that weren't visible nor noticeable that night. In addition, I feel that I am emotionally traumatized by that night's incident. I can sense that I am on the brink of a mental breakdown. The things that I thought I could have neglect and the negative feelings that I…

Looking back at the situation I say to myself that I was an idiot to even go on that slide. I knew I couldn't swim and I didn't check how the deep the pool was. I used to have nightmares about me walking around blue mist struggling for air and every time I died I would wake up. I barely told people about the whole almost drowning thing, but at the moment it’s all thrown out the window.…

The sky was nice and clear. It wasn’t too hot or too cold. It was perfect. It was a typical third grade day. My friends and I were in recess, goofing around, having fun. We sat on the benches and joked around. Next thing I knew my friend was on my back and I was carrying him around. Not aware of my surroundings, I tripped over a bench, closed my eyes, braced for impact, and fell face first into the dirt. I got up feeling dazed and the first thing I hear is a scream. Confused, I looked over to my friend and her face was a mixture of scared and shocked. I saw friends run to the restroom to get me paper towels, but others told me to go to the office. As I walked to the office, I began to feel pain in my lip. I walked into the office speechless.…

One of my friends asked me if I was okay and i said "yeah I am fine". But then he asked me if I was okay after the hit? I said "yeah it hurt a little bit I'm okay now". Not thinking to much about the hit I started walking down the sideline to some of my other buddy's and then all of a sudden I felt super light headed so I sat down on the ground and soon enough another trainer came over and said if I was alright which I wasn't. The trainer checked me out for a little bit and asked me multiple questions which I thought I answered correctly but before you know it there was a ambulance and a fire truck sitting in the parking lot. With the paramedics rushing over to get me they soon put me on a stretcher and took me to the ambulance. I'm not gunna lie I was really scared one being I didn't know why I was being put into a ambulance, and because my parents were not down at the games to see if I was okay or where I was…

Further, regret often comes when looking back on opportunities not seized. There are many things I wish I would have done, or tried, or stuck with throughout life. As a child, I was involved in dance and piano. Upon reflection, if I could do it again, I would have stuck with these things even though a fifth grade version of me saw it as overwhelming and impossible. With years of weekly lessons, these traits would no longer be difficult.…

We all want something out of life and most of us have a plan for our lives and where exactly we want to be in 5, 10, or even 20 years. However, most of the time, those 5,10, and 20 year plans do not work out as we expected. We go through triumphs and tragedies; we grow and learn; and we eventually realize that what we have planned is probably going to change because we have changed. Over the course of my life, I have changed in a variety of ways and have overcame a number of challenges. I’ve made plans for my life and most of them did not work out, but looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.…

With only 3 days until our trip we were in full throttle gameplay mode and I was on the starting team’s side. Our coach decided to put the tallest and strongest hitter on the team on the other side of the court and had us try to block his hits. I was of course on the net ready to block and when he jumped into the air I followed putting everything I had into the block to stop his monster hitting power. Bam! In mid air I had managed to cover his hit but when I came down to land I had stepped under the net and consiquently landed on his foot sending me tumbling to the floor. Instantly I knew something was wrong and I crawled to the bench in agony. I was given a bag of ice and some tape to wrap it up my swollen…

    This I Believe Essay

On January 16th 2011, I was with my two brothers, Kasey and Brandon, and my sister-in-law, Alina at Wintergreen on an exciting snowboarding trip. We got there around 9A.M. and got right on the slopes. I absolutely love snowboarding and would never give it up for anything. About 5P.M. that night, my brothers and I were in the terrain park going off jumps, grinding, doing tricks, all that good stuff. The weather was very cold, and the slopes were pretty icy, but hey, what could be the worst thing that can happen? Maybe it could be a fall right on my butt, or a crazy wipe-out that could have given everyone a good laugh. Unfortunately it was neither of those. My brothers and I were playing follow the leader, they decided to dodge this jump, little did I know it was the biggest jump on the terrain park. I was going full speed and went off the jump, and then it hit me. I fell right on my back, before I knew it I was in the hospital with a broken back. The pain was absolutely excruciating. I ended up breaking my L1, luckily I was still able to walk, but I had to take it easy.…
