Me As A Writer
Every writer is different. Whether it be punctuation, organizing paragraphs, or developing on main points in their paper, everyone has problems with their writing. Even though I am a sufficient writer, there are areas in which I strive and struggle; with that being said, these areas have allowed me to set some goal for myself as a writer. Being able to correctly convey my intentions or ideas is vital when entering my career field. Nobody wants to read a boring story or article that seems to go-on for eternity. A hook is extremely important. Coming from my days as a journalist for the student newspaper at Licking Valley High School, writing an interesting hook was one of the top priorities. Trying to relate to the audience you are writing for can be difficult; therefore, finding an opening line that relates to a wide audience is key. Mr. Comeras, my journalism teacher, pushed me to use an open mind when writing a hook; while …show more content…
Sometimes I get into such a fast-writing flow that I either forget to put commas in, or put them in spaces that I do not need them. Getting more accustomed to using transitions has been tedious, but using them has taken my writing up-a-notch. My favorite types of essays to write have always been more informative pieces; however, writing informative essays about myself and my life has always been difficult for me. For some odd reason, I have always hated writing and talking about myself or my life. Though I understand that it is vital to be comfortable writing about my life, it has been an unexpected

As a writer, I never doubted my abilities. I know about past flaws and I’m sure I’m still oblivious to the current one’s I’m making. One flaw that it visibly noticeable throughout my work in high school is with the use of transitions and how the work flows together. In ninth, English I and II, the works were choppy and lacked even the smallest transitions, but when looking at works from English IV (AP English) or from this class, they’ve greatly increased in usage and my writings have become increasingly smooth.…

The subject English and me have always had a love hate relationship. I love writing when I can write about stories and not write stories, but this year I learned that writing stories isn’t that bad. I am much more open to writing about myself than I was before I began this course. At first it was very difficult for me to put words on papers because most of the prompts had to be personal stories. It was something that I struggled with mainly because I am more reserved and expressing myself isn’t very easy. I feel that writing it was even more difficult simply because I had to make sure I was giving the message I wanted. It is very hard to connect with the audience especially on more personal topics. I was able to overcome this obstacle by using…

Writing in general is not one of my strong suits. It is difficult to highlight my strengths as I feel most of my writing shows off my weaknesses. When I think of myself as a writer, I think of a writing struggle. I struggle with getting things done by the deadline, there are times when I feel “on top of the world” this is when I write my best, and then there are times when I can't write at all, I just feel like dying. Most of this school year I've been depressed and it really affects my ability to write, I hate writing when my heart isn’t in it, when this happens, it leads me to procrastinate, waiting for a spark of motivation but, I guess you just have to fake it occasionally and write with only you mind and hope for the best. Although, in the moments when I actually have the motivation to work I am withheld from it by other people who have authority over me. But, I am determined to…

Writing a personal essay can be a really daunting task. Indeed, this essay type differs from other creative texts and essays. Anyone who reads an essay should see a real person behind the lines and words. It is not easy to express your own thoughts and describe life or even experiences with words as there are things that seem to need no description (like personal feelings). So, when you are sitting down to write an essay, you need to remember that you have to express your personality there. Readers should feel the zest and individuality in your work.…

A good writer uses proper punctuation at all times. Grammar and spelling are important as well. Also, a writer should have a lot of knowledge based on what he/she is writing about. This means that the writer should create a plan before writing about. This means that the writer will research ones topic before writing about it. In addition, a good writer should create a plan before writing to have a formal paper. To tell the truth, if a writer doesn’t truly believe in what one is writing about then that’s not a writer at all. A good writer would not care about what others think of ones opinion. There are few a things that I have learned about myself when it comes to writing. The first thing would be that I procrastinate a lot. Second thing is, I always hand write my papers first before I type them. It's easier for me to think better when I am writing rather than typing. Third thing would be to always reread your own paper out aloud by yourself. I started to read my own paper outlawed not the long ago, it seemed to help me catch my own masticks.…
