Mayflower Compact was the first written document of self government in North America. The document was sign to prevent the disagreements of opinion amongst the puritans.

what is Plymouth Colony?
Plymouth Colony was the first English Colony in New England it was founded by pilgrims. They had believed that they needed a group to separate themselves from the corrupt English church with the help from the Indians, Plymouth Colony eventually established a small community of independent farms.

what was the economy in New England? the New England economy was based on the sales of land and the supplies. The New England merchants had grown diversified trade of fish farm products and more. this had strengthen the new England.
