Kokichi Sugihara 1. Fractal Voronoi Diagrams
The Voronoi diagram represents the partition of the plane into territories, where each territory consists of points nearest to the associated generators. Starting with a small number of generators, we add generators at random, simulate territory competing, and assign colors to the resulting diagram. Then, we get something like artistic patterns. Search for the point with the maximum F (θ , ϕ ) in the (θ , ϕ ) space.

Generation Algorithm
1. Adjust the sizes of the given tiles A and B by fitting them to a common rhombus. 2. Generate the vacant space surrounded by four copies the tile B. 3. Generate a sequence of gradually deforming tiles from A to the vacant space. 4. Place the resulting tiles in the Sky and Water pattern. 5. Assign colors so that the figure-ground reversal appears.

2. Computer-Aided Design of Solid Logo
(with Tomohiro Ohgami) Given three silhouettes, search for a solid having all the silhouettes.

Once we fix θ and ϕ , the realizable values of d can be found efficiently.

Degree of realizability is defined by
F (θ , ϕ ) = min maxD[k ] − max minD[k ]
0≤ k ≤ K 0≤ k ≤ K

F (θ , ϕ )

Christina’s World is a painting set in 1948 by American painter Andrew Wyeth, and one of the best known paintings from the late 20th century. It illustrates a woman lying on the ground in a treeless, mostly orangey field, looking up at a gray house on the horizon with barns and small sheds across from the house. The young woman in the painting is Anna Christina Olson. It is said she suffered from polio (a muscular deterioration) that paralyzed her from the waist down. Wyeth had a summer home close to Christina’s and was inspired to draw the painting after he saw her crawling through the field of her home. The painting’s wasted limbs and pink dress belong to Christina Olson. The youthful head and torso belong to Betsy Wyeth (Andrew Wyeth’s wife) who was then in her mid-20s. Although Olson was the inspiration and subject of the painting, she was not the primary ideal.…
