Math 2412 Reflective Essay
Hello everyone,

To my understanding this “amended” roster is for students needing to be registered for a new section that was created on July 6th. Given that the deadline to submit rosters for the summer II session was on May 13th, I recommend that students on this “new” roster for Math 2412 should not be registered for this course.

One of the objectives that the team discussed was diversity in the workplace. Major corporations have encountered issues concerning diversity in the work place. Our team can directly relate to this subject in the workplace since all of us are diverse minorities in our individual work place. It was discussed in the group that diversity in the workplace is the manager’s responsibility to insure that the workplace is a diverse environment. Managers in most companies are required to hire a diverse staff. Managers have the ability to use race, religion, and tenure as qualities to inspire success and productivity at work. Our team agreed that in the real world not all individuals will set aside their differences to work effectively together, but the process of how management deals with issues concerning diversity is crucial to building and maintaining an efficient workforce.…

George Washington was a very powerful figure in our American history. His works such as winning the Revolutionary War, creation of the United States Constitution, and the establishment of a new government is some of the works that we remember him for (Earhart, Poele, & Dethier, 1932). Not only did he contribute great works, but he also wrote many famous and well-known speeches. One of his famous speeches was his farewell address. This farewell address noted many major points such as patriotism, liberty carries responsibility, importance of preserving the Constitution, relying on God, honesty and money matters, avoidance of foreign influence, and favors from other nations.…

As I began English 111 this summer I thought I was a good writer unfortunately. I was not skilled in writing like I expected. As I progressed in in this course it has become evident to me I lacked the proper structure when formulating an essay. I essentially saw that I was going to need a lot of improvement when devising a good thesis statement and fixing grammatic errors. I also had to refrain from using sentence fragments to improve the flow of my writing. Despite, all the obstacles, I have developed the skills needed to formulate an essay. However, this course has given me the knowledge needed to succeed in writing many well-structured papers.…

When I hear Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s quote, I think about my experience is my AP Calculus course. Up until my senior year of high school, I naturally succeeded in my math courses. In my first trimester of AP Calculus, I struggled with understanding the course material. But more importantly, my grade suffered. My first instinct was to drop the course and enroll in an easier class. I told my mom I had scheduled an appointment with the guidance counselor and I planned to enroll in the course. I was shocked by my mom’s response. I explained to her that I did not need the math course to graduate high school. But my mom still refused to let me quit. Since I had no choice but to stay in the course, I knew I needed to do something to bring…

My former English professor would always say “find a way 101”, whenever a student found themselves struggling in her class. At first I did not understand why she was so rude to her students, this was until after I graduated high school when I realized I was wrong. She was not rude, she was not mean, she was preparing her students for college level English classes. Reflecting on my past encounter with the toughest teacher at my former high school, I can say I feel prepared for a college level class. Although I may have taken the most rigorous class in high school, that does not mean I am expected to pass without falling short. However, I am certain that I am ready for the challenges that my professor will assign me in the fall.…
