Mastectomy Therapeutic Analysis
As Gossip Cop reported, Doherty claimed in August 2015 that the firm, Tanner, Mainstain, Glynn & Johnson, was responsible for the cancellation of her health insurance policy due to its failure to pay her premiums. The actress said she wasn’t able visit doctors for a year and her breast cancer went undetected as a result.

Doherty has undergone both a mastectomy and chemotherapy, treatments the actress said wouldn’t be necessary had the disease been detected earlier. The actress has also been unable to work due to her disease, and has faced significant medical expenses. Doherty has now settled the $15 million lawsuit, but the amount she’ll receive hasn’t been disclosed.

    Mast cell tumors are the most common skin tumor found in dogs (The National Canine Cancer Foundation). According to the ASPCA Complete Guide to dogs mast cell tumors are, “solitary masses on the surface of the skin and in the tissue immediately under the skin” (Gerstenfeld and Schultz, p. 431). Essentially if a dog has a mast cell tumor, then that dog has cancer. There are three types grades for these tumors. The first grade is when it occurs in the skin, is non-malignant and do not spread.     Every year breast cancer affects American women either through one’s own diagnosis or through a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, or friend. The American Cancer Society (ACS) recommends that women under the age of 40 perform monthly breast self-examinations and receive clinical breast self-examinations yearly. Furthermore, ACS also recommends annual mammograms for all women beginning at the age 40, and continuing them as long as the woman is in good health. However, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends mammograms once every two years for all women from ages 50 to 74, which has caused some controversy over the years. The USPSTF’s recommendations have become very controversial.
