Increased gun control needs to be taken into extreme consideration because we have had an increase in shootings, people abuse the power of owning a gun, and if there are stricter laws over the use of guns everywhere then so many innocent people can be saved.
There has been an increase in mass shootings in the United States over the past 10 years. AJ Willingham states that the United States is accountable for 31% of all public mass shootings which is the largest percentage of mass shootings in the world. This is happening because there are no laws restricting the use of guns in any way, shape, or form. The government says they are going to change things and make stricter laws, but time and time again there is another shooting and still nothing comes from the government’s side of things. No one feels safe to go outside at night in their neighborhoods or safe to go to that one side of town that everyone knows is trouble. Many people don’t feel safe when doing these things, and that is not acceptable and it shouldn’t be tolerated by the government. If the people of your country do not feel safe, that is a clear sign that something is wrong and more things need to be changed. Americans should not have to keep living in fear and wondering if they will make it back to their family that night. The United States needs to enforce stricter gun control laws because the shootings in this country have increased dramatically, gun owners are abusing the power of owning a gun, and we could save so many lives by enforcing stricter gun control laws.
