Mary Cassatt is the artist chosen to be showcased in my museum exhibit. She is well known for her paintings of women and children. The way this exhibit will be set up is the growth of a child and the different daily activities a mother takes part in. A museum is going to play a role in how the exhibit is seen. It is important that the exhibit be planned out and organized to appeal to the visitors. Museums play crucial roles in our modern societies. The exhibit will showcase the joys of motherhood. The Bible says in Psalm 131:2 But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me. A mother is thought to bond with their children within the first few hours within them being born. A child becomes dependent and attached to their mother.

This is the first piece n to go in the exhibit. This piece will be important because it is one of the first bonds a child makes with his mother. Breastfeeding is a learned skill and important for mothers. This piece shows a child getting from his mother something no one else can offer. As a mother being able to give a life to a child and provide your child with the healthiest form of food.

This is the next piece chosen for the exhibit. The painting was done is 1881. This painting in located in the Museum Of Fine Arts in Houston Texas. This is an oil painting on canvas. This painting can appeal to many mothers. As a mother many times your children are upset and need a parent’s reassurance. In this painting the interpretation that the child was upset and the mother was there to in a sense make everything all better. A memory of being a child and having my mother and grandmother there to make all problems go away is the reason this painting was chosen for the exhibit.
