During that time we lived in a studio in my grandpas house. The school i attended at the time was Dwight eisenhower elementary. Everyone thought i was a genius because i got 4 diplomas at the trimester awards while everyone got two or one. What i remember the most from living with my grandpa was every weekend he used to knock at our door at 7 am just to come talk to us. It was annoying because he wouldn't stop until we opened the door. He was always so eager to spend time with his grandkid. It was nice being the only child, but then came 2006 and i was no longer the queen of the house. Before i knew it in 2008 we had another package included into my family. Our family was growing rapidly so my parents decided to move out into a much bigger house, which is where i live today. I moved to a new school called carrillo ranch elementary. Everything was pretty smooth, no worries, no stress, and easy going such as in the beginning of a roller …show more content…

I was raised in a Mexican-American home. My parents had my older sister when soon after they graduated high school, so they struggled to provide the economic needs for my older sister’s heart surgeries when she was an adolescent. Because of these conflicts in their life they continued pursuing higher education while allowing my grandmother to look after my sister. They eventually started dedicating their lives to more work than play; therefore, that lead to me and my siblings to raised by my grandmother. Moreover, I grew up living in my grandmother’s house chasing chickens and being forced to eat everything on my plate. My cousins were in the same situation, and we were all around the same age. That lead us to spend everyday together, making…

My mother is a first generation Mexican American with rich Mexican traditions that are still influential in our lives. She was always there for me and always told me to treat people with respect. My dad has made me who I am in sports. He has always been there pushing me to be the best I can be. I remember it more and more fondly every time I think about it. I am so nostalgic and prefer to live in the past these days rather than look toward my bleak future. I would do a project at night and go to sleep before it was done, then when I would wake up in the morning it was on my desk with my clothes all nicely ironed and ready to put on. I would walk down the stairs to the smell of whatever delectable delight Mom had on top of our stove, and Mandi would do my hair. They took me everywhere and picked me up. I would go to cheer, and track right after school. My friend Jackie would give me a ride home every night. When I arrived home, there would be a organic creation ready to eat. My mom always made it seem so easy.…

First of all, one reason that Hispanic heritage plays an important role in my life is because of its diversity. There are many different types of families and cultures that have many different types of morals. For example, one of the different cultures would be Colombians. Colombians are family-oriented and are well known for their music and dance, which is Salsa. Hispanic families like to stick together no matter the situation. My mother always told me that my sisters and I must stick together because we are all that we have. No matter how large or small the situation is, we would get through anything as long as we leaned on each other.…

Around the age of fifteen, I was enrolled as a freshman at Emporia High School. It was a decent school with amazing classes but lame teachers. What sucked about it was that I was only there for around two weeks. My mom decided that we had to move to Wichita because she wanted to find a better job. She worked at the W.A. Moyer Company, and her job was to make those tiny vials of yellow liquid that help you tell if something is evenly level. Yeah it sounds like an easy job, but some guy got his fingers cut off making them. We started packing and eventually drove to our new house in Wichita. I didn’t mind leaving because right around that day, there was an upcoming exam over some artist I forgot the name of. I was so glad that I didn’t have to take that stupid exam.…
