Martin Luther King Jr.: An Inspirational Leader
An Inspirational Leader
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”(John Quincy Adams)
Many Americans do their best to inspire the world. They do many things, some are successful, others are not, but those who try are leaders. One of those leaders was Martin Luther King, Jr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an amazing man because he worked for peace and equality, he brought people together to work for unity, he has inspired the world, and he has inspired me to make the world a better place. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and had one older sister. He married Coretta Scott on June 18, 1953. They had four children: two girls and two boys. was an inspiration to the world. Because of his tireless work, all Americans, regardless of their skin color, share many of the same freedoms. They can use the same restrooms, eat in the same restaurants, ride in any seat they want on a bus or train, and they can obtain the same jobs as whites. He also helped people realize that blacks and whites can work in government together, and women can have any job they want. Black women are not forced to be maids and work for whites, they can work for anyone they want. Blacks can also live anywhere they want. They are not forced to live in small tenements or shanties. Blacks can earn equal wages as well. They can make as much money as they want. Black children can also go to school with white children. There are no white only or black only schools; children are no longer segregated by race. Martin Luther King, Jr. influenced the society to make a peaceful and equal …show more content…
to make the world a better place. I help prepare meals to send overseas at Feed My Starving Children. I help take care of small children at church so parents can go to church and worship freely without worrying about the safety of their children. I am currently learning a tap dance to perform at nursing homes this Christmas. I do my best to judge people for their character, not their skin color. I may not do anything as big as the marches or bus boycott Martin Luther King, Jr. did, but I do my best to make the world a better place for the people that live in it.
“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?” (Martin Luther King, Jr.)
“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.” (Martin Luther King, Jr)
Today, almost 60 years after his death, the world still needs peace and unity. On Friday, November 13, 2015, terrorists bombed Paris because of religious differences. A total of 6 locations were targeted. 129 people were killed, and 359 were injured. It is our job as global citizens, to work for peace, by respecting each other's differences and showing love to

The death of the great Malcolm X was a most tragic day. On February 21, 1965 Malcolm X was preparing to address the Organization of Afro-American Unity in Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom where he was gunned down by three men, one of the gunmen was a member of the Nation of Islam Talmadge Hayer (Journal, 2014). Malcolm X was a great leader not because he wanted equality but because he wanted unity among blacks in America. His words were mush wiser than those of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. This is because Mr. X wasn’t afraid to take actions were deemed necessary. Though peace is good, can one really fight violence with peace? This is the question I believe Malcolm X was trying to answer. As many whites try to stop our movement by violence and murder Malcolm X was the only one courageous enough to give them a taste of their own medicine! Some might argue that Malcolm X’s…

Doctor Martin Luther King Junior's legacy is one that I could only aspire to stand next to. His preachings gave the power to those disenfranchised to love, tolerate, and care, therefore bringing change to not only those who sought hatred, ignorance, and fear, but to those who were never offered these unalienable human rights. This message of warmth was the backbone of his unquestionably revolutionary movement, creating widespread, lasting change throughout the entire United States. “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend” (Martin Luther King, Jr. Christmas Speech, Dec. 25, 1957).…

made was that the “means to an end must be as pure as the end itself.” What he meant by this was that the process of obtaining an objective, must be as pure and peaceful as the outcome of the objective itself. Martin Luther King Jr. was fighting for peace and equality in a time of racism and segregation. Colored people were treated as inferiors to white people; they were not allowed to live at the same standard as white people. Their children were not allowed to attend white schools and colored people were seated at the back of buses, whilst white people sat at the front. Colored people were also killed, their houses were burned down and it was the time period when the Klu Klux Klan were hanging colored people from trees. By saying that the means to an end must be as pure as the end itself, Martin Luther King Jr. meant that if the colored people went out and retaliated by killing white people, then their freedom would be neither peaceful, nor pure. He was a man of great integrity and I believe he was referring to non-violent activities and nonviolent protests, in an attempt to strike the hearts of white people. I think that by sticking to peace and by not retaliating, Martin Luther King Jr. demonstrated an immense amount of integrity and this is probably one of the main reasons that he is the role model that he is today. Peace and fighting fairly are not always effective ways of handling oppression, although they are the most respectful and ethical ways to handle it. A leader who handles situations in this matter must have great character, must be very patient and forgiving, and sadly a lot of leaders nowadays don’t have any of these characteristics, which is why wars nowadays are so…

Martin Luther King Jr. on the Nobel Peace Prize stage makes an effective effort to induce the audience by repetitively expressing that “I believe” the “unarmed truth and unconditional love” have the final say in reality and how “I believe” that even amongst today’s “mortar burst and whining bullets,” there is still hope. Consequently, Dr. King full-heartily inspires people on a global scale to stray away from violence and “thermonuclear hell” as a solution to the world’s problems. Furthermore, his extended efforts are apparent again on stage when Dr. King expresses how “I believe” that “wounded justice, lying … on the blood … streets of our nation,” can be lifted from these same streets once again. Taking this into account, Martin Luther King…

Martin Luther King Jr. was hardworking due to the fact that he led protest marches despite the critics and the government, he was arrested for fighting for equal rights, he continued past the death threats, and remained so determined that he even put his life up for the cause. What makes him so inspiring is that it would have been much easier for Dr.King to fight with violence but he didn’t, he fought with non-violence i.e. protests. Also he not only fought for black rights but he fought for the rights of the oppressed. On top of this he was a pastor that preached God’s message and he raised a family. He was so determined at fighting for equal rights that he got arrested 28 times and that did not deter him.
