Progress report from last meeting: N/A

Progress at this meeting:
We got together and discussed possible ideas that we had all come up with individually. We discussed the possibilities of a marketing plan for a new Nivea product, speed bands which could be used by individuals and sports teams and a new Jack Daniels honey flavor drink. We knocked about pros and cons of doing each product and eventually decide to go with the Jack Daniels honey flavor.
Assigned tasks to be completed for next meeting: Every member of the group is to research past marketing procedures used by the Jack Daniels company and set a target market for our current product.
Date and venue for next meeting: Wednesday 13th February 2013

Date of meeting: 14th February 2013
Venue: DIT
In attendance: Paul, Darran, Tobi, Sean and Conor
Duration: 1 Hour
Progress report from last meeting: In our last meeting which was also our first meeting we came up with the marketing product, the product we decided on was the new Jack Daniels Honey flavor. We had discussed other possible products to market but decided on this one as we felt we had more info available to us.
Progress at this meeting: During this meeting we did a SWOT analysis on the company Jack Daniels.
Jack Daniels:
Strengths are its name it’s a well-known and respected brand which is distributed worldwide.
Weaknesses: it might only appeal to a certain type of drinker, it’s seen as an expensive brand and quite a hard core drink.
Opportunities: it opens up doors to a new target group of drinkers
Threats: like its weaknesses it only appeals to a certain type of drinker and it might struggle to break into the market of a sweeter drink as there are so many cheaper options available to customers.

We also made a contact in the company who we are planning to meet to get info on

These drinks seemed to have done more than refresh us, they have served as economic sparkers and signatures for countries. What have these drinks done alike to have such a large impact on the economy of where they pioneered in? Superiority was a large overlapping similarity; each drink was very superior to any other drink of that era. Consistency was a major factor in each drink; whenever the economic factor of each drink came into play, each drink was consistent with how much the economy depended on it. Strength is needed among all drinks, especially when having such a large impact on the economy as these drinks did; they needed to be able to prosper in even the worst economic stages.…

Spykes and Wide Eye were innovative products. Spykes was an effort by Anheuser-Busch to compete for younger drinkers increasingly attracted to novel distilled spirits products. Wide Eye, a caffeinated schnapps beverage was an example. Both sought to capitalize on market trends including caffeination, sweet and fruity flavors, and unconventional ingredients such as ginseng, guarana, and ginkgo biloba. Sales of products in the caffeinated alcoholic beverage category were growing and several dozen brands had appeared. These were “good” products in the sense that they fulfilled consumer needs.…
