You need to develop a marketing campaign for your government agency who is charged with responsibility for creating social change campaigns. Before you are able to proceed you need to have some information on the campaign topic- marriage. You are therefore required to get details on consumer perception and attitudes towards matrimony.

Background to the Problem
Marriage is one of the most important institutions affecting people’s life and well-being. There are many reasons why marriage has endured for so long. Humans are essentially social animals. They are scared of loneliness and cannot live or grow to their full potential in isolation Marriage is the only institution that allows two people to establish a very strong and enduring relationship that is fully backed by the law and society as a whole. This is the main reason why the institution of marriage has been around for so long .However less people are getting married each year in the Kingston and St.Andrew Parish.
Problem Statement
The problem of this study is that there has been a decline in marriage over the past 3 years. In the year 2007, 2,925 persons got married, In 2008 2,765 got married and In 2009 2,579 got married in the Kingston and St. Andrew parish. This qualitative study will examine the reason for this problem and how it has affected the Jamaican Society. Research Question
This research will seek to investigate why less people are getting married in the Kingston and St.Andrew region and how this has impacted life’s. Sub Questions: 1. To access the views persons in the Kingston and St.Andrew region have on marriage.

2. To investigate how marriage influences and shapes the Jamaican society

3. To evaluate the benefits of marriage versus being single on the society
