1: The Premises
-1 in 3 adult Americans have tried marijuana
-Federal marijuana laws can arrest or imprison anyone for simple possession
-These laws are unfair and abuse our criminal justice system
-Prosecuting and jailing these non-violent Americans whose life’s can be altered severally, wastes valuable resources that would be better spent keeping violent criminals off our streets
2: The Conclusion
-Marijuana laws waste billions of taxpayer dollars to lock up non-violent Americans
I personally agree with this view and go one step further. I believe that marijuana should be de-criminalized and handled the same as alcohol. It should be legal to own a certain amount for home use. This should be taxed and that money applied to education and some form of universal healthcare. I digress…….This assignment was not about what we do or don’t believe. Our assignment was to analyze the argument for what it is.
This Ad utilizes rhetoric to make the audience draw a conclusion without much empirical evidence. The purpose of this ad is to persuade about a social policy that impacts all or us all in one way or another. The ad needs to convince the taxpayers that the government is wasting billions of taxpayer dollars. This is to get the taxpayers to act with the cause and initiate change to the current marijuana laws. The ad furthers this premise by bringing emotion into the Ad ..” we will reduce wasting money and apply that money to more helpful services”.

In this story I agree with Joel, there’s so much to do on the Internet, it can be very helpful for social needs and for schooling needs. Chat groups can be used to help you out in school. Having that can help you out with understanding school work and what not. The internet is also helpful with school because teachers can put the assignments online so we can access them.
