Marie Lu is a dystopian novelist whose life began with a very surprising start. Her given name is Xiwei Lu, and she was born in Wuxi, China on July 11, 1984. When she was just five years old, she migrated to the United States after the Tiananmen Massacre, and settled with her family in Georgia. Marie finished her first full manuscript when she was just fourteen, and has kept a steady interest in the dystopian and/or sci-fi genre.
