Ely Marick Karstark was born in Winterfell to the parents of Amara and Michael Karstark. His family consists of his twin brother, Alex, and his younger sister, Khloe, who is four years his junior. From a young age, Ely has attempted to help his mother in the stables raising and farming animals. However, Ely has always had trouble learning new concepts and tended to frequently make errors. Although this would visibly irritate his mother, she tried not to let it show and continued to teach him. Amara first showed him how to feed the animals and proceeded to teach him how to take care of offspring. After years passed from the first day Ely attempted to shear a sheep, he eventually became reasonably adpt at serving as a stablehand and …show more content…
Under minor protest, Ely complied and Michael lead Ely into the forest where he proceeded to dawn a set of ghilli, pulled out his bow, and drew an arrow from his quiver. With the utmost precision, Michael was able to quickly dispatch a large bearcat. After verifying that the surrounding area was clear of any additional predators, Michael led Ely towards the bearcat and pulled out a sharpened axe and began to clean the bearcat and began to separate its muscles from the bones and hide. In the eyes of Ely, this sight was extremely gruesome and thus, Ely darted back towards the family home. For days, Ely refused to leave his quarters. Approximately three weeks after the aforementioned incident, Ely began to feel upset with himself for leaving Michael in such haste and felt it was his duty to apologize and rectify the situation. Although Michael was initially upset and baffled by Ely’s response, he was warmly receiving of his apology. Michael questioned if Ely would be open to attempting to eventually learn how to hunt and Ely agreed that he would begin learning at once. Eventually, Ely learned how to craft a bow and learned how to procure poison for arrows. Although Ely remained uncomfortable with slaughtering animals, he slowly began to process the scene from before and learned to move past its seemingly heinous

I do know you. Daniel AlliStair Kaffee, born June 8th, 1964 at Boston Mercy Hospital. Your father's Lionel Kaffee, former Navy Judge Advocate and Attorney General, of the United States, died 1985. You went to Harvard Law on a Navy scholarship, probably because that's what your father wanted you to do, and now you're just treading water for the three years you've gotta serve in the JAG Corps, just kinda layin' low til you can get out and get a real job. And if that's the situation, that's fine, I won't tell anyone. But my feeling is that if this case is handled in the same fast-food, slick-ass, Persian Bazaar manner with which you seem to handle everything else, something's gonna get missed. And I wouldn't be doing my job if I allowed Dawson…

Most of these challenges occur as a result of longtime nemesis such as civil wars, bad governance, poor economic performance, rapid population growth, and so forth. The Acts and bodies involved in the management of the national reserves manage to contain some of these problems by promoting accountability of the revenue that the sector gets and thus protecting the resources. The revenues from the national parks are reinvested to boost other sectors of the economy such as infrastructure…

Alan B. Krueger and Jitka Maleckova bring a simple correlation to poverty and terrorism. There is no doubt that education directly correlates to the success of the individual. “Instead of viewing terrorism as a direct response to low market opportunities or lack of education, we suggest it is more accurately viewed as a response to political conditions and long-standing feelings of indignity and frustration (perceived or real) that have little to do with economics.” “Alan B. Krueger and Jitka Maleckova” Does Poverty Cause Terrorism?, June 23 2002. Directly relating this to the problems in the Middle East is simple enough with what has been developing over the last few years there. Terrorism is defined as violence for or against a state, though it is sometimes difficult to tell, like in the Middle East, who is actually the legitimate government. Though the widely accepted definition is "premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by…

Kinkade has a nickname called, the painter of the light. His paintings to me are so life like it's unbelievable. Kinkade had been criticized for the extent to which people actually think his paintings are without substance or basically not good enough for all the publicity he gets.…

This question links to our GCSE course as one of the topics I have studied is tourism. Grasmere and Ambleside are small settlements but still manage to have many, many visitors each year. This is why they are great places to study what attracts tourists to certain places as these two places are honeypot sites. As they are small places, I should be able to cover the whole area to see all the different reasons as to why people go there.…

The moment I have chosen comes at the beginning of Chapter 11 and results in a series of events and deliberation, capturing the reactions and emotions towards Carwin’s reasons for being around. In the chapters preceding this one, Carwin arrived and was introduced as a companion of Pleyel’s whom he had met at the theatre of old Saguntum while he was travelling through Spain. In Clara’s words of her impression of Carwin, “He uttered no sentiment calculated to produce a disadvantageous impression: on the contrary, his observations denoted a mind alive to every generous and heroic feeling.”(81). From the first time meeting Carwin, Clara noticed how good with his words he was and how well mannered he appeared. Although with a number of good qualities there seemed to be a sense of darkness about him as if he was keeping something to himself that he did not want exposed. This notion left confusion amongst the family, “Each day introduced us to a more intimate acquaintance with his sentiments, but left us wholly in the dark, concerning that about which we were most inquisitive.”(82). An event that would tarnish Carwin’s reputation for Clara is when he comes out of the closet asking her questions about previous actions basically letting her know he was eavesdropping. At this point Clara is freaked out and more anxious for her safety as he continues to explain to her that she should not fear him, “What is it you fear? Have I not told you, you are safe? Has not one in whom you more reasonably place trust assured you of it? Even if I execute my purpose, what injury is done? Your prejudices will it by that name, but it merits it not.(103). Because Carwin can see this is not settling to Clara he leaves, only to lead to the moment between Clara and Pleyel. The question remains though, what was his purpose and would Carwin come back to execute?…
