Maria Labo is from the province of Capiz. Maria Labo have a happy family she had a kind and loving husband and one son. Maria Labo was decide working abroad in England, for the sake of her family.
She had a good employer, who treated her well, but she did not know that here employer was a vampire. In the months she was employed, Maria was a combination maid and care giver to here employer. The employer of Maria would always provide her with half-cooked liver to eat.
After months of working for him, Maria began to feel sick. She did not know that she had ingested some blood of her vampire employer. Due to her unkown illness, Maria decided to return home to the Philippines, to live with her family.
The husband of Maria was a police officer. One day, after the husband returned home from work, Maria told her husband that she had already prepared dinner. Upon which time the husband of Maria sat down to the table and asked Maria, “Where is our son?“. To which Maria replied, “Our son is right there!“. The husband of Maria did not know what she meant. He was unaware that the meat he had eaten that day, was in fact their son!
Upon opening the refrigerator box, he was shocked to see the head of their son in the refrigerator. The husband of Maria was so angry, he picked up a big knife and slashed the face of Maria. Maria had big scar on her face, which is why she was called ”Maria Labo”.
From that day on, Maria would stalk or hunt in many different locations within the Philippines, but her husband continued to hunt for Maria because he wanted to kill her. Whenever Maria was known to be in any place within the Philippines, all or the people tried to find and kill her, to save their own children. From those days till the present, the Filipino people gave Maria the nickname of the “Aswang”, meaning Queen of the Vampires.

Maria Montoya Martinez was from San Ildefonso Pueblo. Born on an unrecorded date between 1881 and 1887 Maria was the oldest of five sisters. She started learning pottery skills from her aunt, at first just by watching her. At this time, traditional pottery techniques were being lost, but Maria and her family were trying to preserve the culture of art. By the age of seven or eight Martínez was making crude bowls and plates of her own. She received a well rounded education by first attending a government grammar and rudimentary school. Maria and her sister were selected to spend 2 of their formative years at St. Catherine’s Indian School. After much trial and error, Maria successfully produced a black ware pot. She began developing new designs, shapes, and techniques for black pottery. She won many awards and presented her pottery at many world fairs and received the initial grant for the National Endowment for the Arts to fund a Martinez pottery workshop in 1973. I really enjoyed watching the Maria Martinez short film. Prior to this movie, I never really thought about what the Natives and people back in history used to make pottery. After watching this film, I learned how creative the Native Americans actually were. I found the method that Maria used to make pottery very interesting. It was very cool to see her gather her own clay from nature and mix it with red and white sand. She then poured water into a pool of clay and wedged it together very delicately. It was so fascinating to see how Maria and her son fired their pottery. As they stacked their ceramic pieces in a pit, they used metal to trap the air and keep the heat in. This complicated process looked so easy to Maria and her brother. They had to use intensive care when dealing with the firing, and it was always a gamble for them on how their pots would turn out. I was very surprised when their red clay pots turned black after the firing. You could just tell how experienced the two of them were and how passionate they both felt about ceramics. Maria took great pride in the spirits and was always thanking them. She looked to nature for help and always found her tools in the environment. She is very creative when it comes to decorating and uses so many unique techniques. At age 85, it is very impressive to see Maria kneeled down on the ground and kneading her clay so quickly. She is extremely gifted in the arts and has a true talent for making pottery. I thought it was very interesting when she told us that she did not learn how to make clay form her mother, it was her aunt instead that taught and influenced her. We read Macbeth because Shakespeare’s plays are timeless in the lessons we can learn from them. Why do we read it when it wasn’t intended for schools and when Shakespeare uses a form of English that often differs from how we speak today? Yet Shakespeare gives us many valuable lessons to learn from his plays. For example, in the act Macbeth; Macbeth says “Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player/ that struts and frets his house upon the stage” and when Duncan says “that you can’t judge someone’s mind looking at his face”. He teaches us ambition, good and evil, power, appearance and reality, politics, the supernatural, and physical and mental illness. This is something we already live in the real world. Shakespeare teaches us that ambition can drive us to doing things we never thought we were capable of doing. Like when Macbeth killed Kind Duncan to become king, yet Duncan had been a good king to Macbeth and Lady Macbeth by letting them stay under the king’s roof and giving them good king men ship. The fact that he proves that good always wins and the evil is always victorious as long as it can last. He also lets us know that power can be wanted but not always be able to have it in possession and that’s where the ambitions drives us to commits evilness. The most important thing is that he teaches that our self-conscious will always follow us and may never let us sleep. In the case with Lady Macbeth, she at first was an evil women known with no heart but yet in the begging of act 5 she proves that she can longer live with herself and all the murders and crimes that were committed by her and Macbeth.
