MARCET BOILER
MODEL: HE 169

T

his Marcet Boiler (Model: HE 169) is a benchtop unit designed to demonstrate the thermodynamic basic principal of boiling phenomenon. Students will be able to study the fundamental pressure-temperature relationship of saturated steam in equilibrium with water.

DESCRIPTION

SPECIFICATIONS

The unit consists of a stainless steel pressure vessel fitted with a high pressure immersion electrical heater.
The unit also comes with a safety valve, glass thermometer and Bourdon type pressure gauge. Water inlet valve and discharge valve are also installed.

i) Pressure Vessel
3 liter capacity made of stainless steel

The unit comes with transducers for temperature and pressure so that students will be able to read the respective values on a digital indicator. Students will be able to control and monitor the heater power supply via a control panel. The heater is protected from burn-out by setting the maximum operating temperature on the temperature controller.

This experiment was carried out to determine the relationship between the pressure andthe temperature of saturated steam in equilibrium. Besides that this experiment was alsodone to demonstrate the vapor pressure curve. The market Boiler was used for thisexperiment. When the pressure increases, the temperature also increases. Therefore, therelationship of pressure and temperature is directly proportional. The derived formulaeand the data were used to calculate the slope. The dT/dP measured was compared withthe data in the steam table. Theoretically, the values measured should be almost the samewith the predicted values. However, at certain points, the values are not the same. Thismay because of the errors made in the experiment.…

Art is a skill that is worked through the conscious that helps us as individuals to bring forth a creative imagination. Often times, people put restraints on what beauty, culture, and love are. Act One of “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder and “The Egg Boiler” by Gwendolyn Brooks are both similar in which Mr. Webb and Professor Willard is sharing with us Grover’s Corners beauty and letting the people on the outside know that how they look at love, beauty, and culture is different than outsiders look at it just like Brooks talks about the style of poetry that is an art but people don’t look at it as poetry.…

In fact, we are 100% ESOP - Employee-Owned. Our financial information is announced and available to all employees. Our financial information is also discussed on a monthly and quarterly basis during our staff meetings. Maggie is well aware of this fact. This is a frivolous lawsuit. Steam Power

A steam engine is a heat engine that performs mechanical work using steam as its working fluid. Using boiling water to produce motion goes back about 2000 years, but early devices were not practical. Since the late 1700’s steam engines have become a major source of mechanical power. The first steam-powered devices were used to pump water out of mines. In 1781, James Watt patented a steam engine that produced continuous rotative motion. These engines enabled a wide range of manufacturing machinery to be powered. These engines could be sited anywhere that water, coal or wood fuel could be obtained. Steam engines could also be applied to vehicle such as traction engines and railway locomotives. The stationary steam engine was an important part of the Industrial Revolution which lasted from the late 1700’s to the early and mid 1800’s. (Wikipedia)…

    Metal Expansion

    • 1483 Words

Procedure: For the first part of the lab, we try to prove the formula for thermal expansion, ΔL = αLiΔT. We first set up the lab by pouring water into the steam generator about three quarters full and then placing the top on it. Then we grab the flexible hoses and connect them to both ends of a metal rod. We then connect the end with the grove to the steam generator and then other we place paper towels underneath them, knowing that steam is going to come out from there. We measure the diameter of the pin, p=0.00303m, and then place the knife-edge support and the rollers and pin a distance and pin a bit smaller than the length of the rod. We place the knife-edge support on the groove on the rod and the other end of the rod on top of the rollers and pin. Now that it has been set up, we write down the length of the rod from the knife-edge support to the point where the rod is making contact with the pin, the initial temperature of the room from the thermometer, and the angle the pointer is on. Now we turn on the steam generator and wait for steam to start coming out from the open end and for the pointer to turn. Once steam starts coming out, we turn off the steam generator and quickly measure the temperature inside of open end hose. We also measure the angle the pointer is on. Now we use these measurements in the equation ΔL1 = πdΔθ1/360 to show the change of length of…
