In the story ‘’Marble Champ’’ by Gary Soto, lupe is someone that wants to be good at something other than school.But as I read I learned that lupe is someone that people would admire. This is because she's smart,hardworking,and a good sport.

The first reason lupe is someone to admire is because she's smart. Shes smart by being a straight A student and by getting A’s means she studied hard and did all of her homework and stayed on top of her work. Another reason why lupe is smart is because she was the champion at chess.Which being good at chess means a lot because chess is a game of strategy.Strategy is a hard thing to do and being a champion at chess that means you have great strategy and strategy means you're smart.
