Man Vs Man Lord Of The Flies Analysis
The most important conflict in Lord of the Flies must be Man v.s. Man. Ralph and Jack have different opinions about priorities, rules, and many other things. The main thing that they disagree about is who should be Chief of the boys. In the beginning the boys voted for Ralph, but Jack still wanted to be the Chief, so they would often argue. For example, when Jack asks, ¨What about my hunters?” Ralph responds with: ¨Boys armed with sticks.¨(Golding 125) These boys spend so much time fighting that nothing gets done. The subject of ¨The beast¨ is major motif of the novel. The beast symbolizes the main source of fear on the island. This makes the boys respond to beast in irrational ways.
