Man of Integrity
My father stands at five foot nine inches tall, and is husky built. He has brown eyes, black hair mixed with some grey, and thinning on top. He has a dark complexion, and loves the outdoors. He has always been a great leader, provider, and role model in my life. He is a great person, and has always made me proud to be his daughter. In my eyes my father will always be seen as a brave, selfless, and very dedicated man.
He completed college with a degree in Criminal Justice after high school, and went to work for Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. I remember the stories my dad shared with me would sound so scary. I couldn’t imagine how anybody, especially my dad, could do. To hiding and chasing wanted people through the woods, and how they would fight and resist being caught. He traveled to many places looking for dangerous people, and obtained many injuries from his job. He carried a gun, but had to use his skills, body, and strength for protection. After two years he made a decision to go to law school, and represent people instead of catching them.
My dad left his home town to go to Memphis to law school. Newly married and determined to further his education and complete his goals. He come from a single parent home and being the oldest of five siblings he had more responsibility than most college kids. He continued to help with the younger siblings while juggling the role of husband, student, brother, and soon a parent. He worked a forty hour job for minimum wage and attended school full time. He was still able to accomplish being an honor student. He was able to complete law school, pass the board exam, and return to his hometown to start his career in law. He remained loyal to all his obligations and commitments. My dad has excelled at being a lawyer from the result of being kind and honest in the community. To my knowledge he has never hesitated to help anyone in need. I see my dad as always being selfless and committed to many activities. He enjoys working and volunteering his time to his community and family. He now has five children to support and always attend our activities and functions. He has always made sure that we attended church services as a family. After church we have Sunday dinner and family time at my Nana Bea’s house. We spend a lot of time laughing and catching up on our events from throughout the week. This time is very valuable because all of us have busy schedules and he wants to hear what we have to say. He finds time to volunteer coaching with local children that play basketball. He doesn’t take much time for himself, but somehow remains athletic and plays sports when he can. He loves teaching kids basketball, but after all he is a kid at heart.
My dad is my hero and has always been a great father. He is always funny, supportive, and never backs down on a challenge. I am proud for people to know of his accomplishments and loyalty. If I can accomplish half of what my dad has done I will be glad. I feel very honored to call him my dad and his influence have helped me with my choices this far. I know no matter what I choose or what road I may take, he will stand behind me. My dad will always be the kind of person everyone can depend on. (606 words)
