Madagascar Did you know that Madagascar is the fourth largest island? This is only one interesting fact that you will learn. This paper will discuss Madagascar; its history, government, military, and its people and society. About 135 million years ago there was a prehistoric breakup of the sub-continent Gondwana. Madagascar split from India about eighty-eight million years ago, still allowing plants and animals to evolve (Klause).
Madagascar is also the largest European country. It is almost twice the size of the state Arizona in the US. Madagascar has many names Red Island, Rainbow Island, and the 8th Continent (Klause).

The population is twenty-one million people, this was last recorded in 2014. They have 3 main languages, Malagasy, French, and English. 70% of the people of Madagascar have an education (Klause). They believe in there passed away ancestors, as in like we do god. That's who they believe in. This type of belief is called razana (History and Ampi Politic).
A family house usually consists of a male and female, children, a marriage, and sometime foster children. Not all household have all of them, those are just some of the things that would be in the household. It is common not find a single mother household but not to find a single father household. When a male and female get married the woman leaves her house and goes to her husband's house. It is also common to find a multi-family units (Malagasy).
Children are expected to do chores at the age of five around the house. All men and women do household task. Women dominate family meals, cleaning, and shopping for food and clothes. Men do the farming and work around the house outside, and do the work away from home too. Madagascar has many different ethnic groups, Malayo-Indonesian, Mixed African, and Arba’s and many more
