Macromolecules When We Are Living Together
A living system grows, provides for itself and reproduces by itself. The coolest thing about a living system is that it is composed of non-living molecules and atoms. Biochemistry is basically that the pursuit of knowledge of what goes on chemically within a living system is classifies as such. Although there are thousands of different types of molecules in a cell, only few are bimolecular like the four common macromolecules and many more. Proteins and carbohydrates are important factors of our food. To add onto, some simple molecules like vitamins and mineral salts also have a crucial part in the functions of organisms. The difficulty of even the simplest of life forms like the single cell, cannot and should not be exaggerated. If we were …show more content…
This basic theme, in which the cell uses a simple small molecule in a multitude of processes, is typical of how relatively small biomolecules are used in living systems. Properties and metabolism of four biomolecules: amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleotides and their roles in metabolism are important and aren’t recognized as much as they should be. You are aware of that our body, plants and other animals are made up of many chemical substances. There are certain complex organic molecules which form the basis of life. These build up living organisms and are also required for their growth and maintenance. These molecules are called bpimolecules. The main classes of bimolecules are four big macromolecules which are carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, then some are enzymes, hormones etc. The structures and function are important to these macromolecules. Carbohydrates for example are a basic and important biomolecule on earth. Carbohydrates form a very large group of naturally occurring organic compounds which play a vital role in daily life. The production of carbohydrates usually happens in plants through a process called photosynthesis. Carbohydrates are classified into three groups depending upon their behavior on hydrolysis. Starting off with monosaccharides, monosaccharides are further classified on the basis of the number of carbon atoms …show more content…
Biological resources are used to produce the chemicals, materials and energy required for the development of industrial goods. Industrial Biotechnology is also known by the name "white Biotechnology". It is also used to make Biobased products in certain sectors like paper, pulp, textiles, biofuels and biogas. Industrial Biotechnology improves the environmental benefits and it also helps in improving the performance of the industry and a value add to its products too. Industrial biotechnology has been one of the most branches to be the most involved with the bringing of new ideas, innovative. It has also contributed the impacts in climatic change in the industrial sector and in the other sectors too. As the industrial technology improvises day by day, generations after generations it helps not only the changes in the climatic conditions but also it helps are economy to growth in the industrial sector and in the other sectors too. As the industry improvises there is growth and scope for innovation and technology. It also helps in pollution prevention, resource conservation and cost reduction. If proper measures are planned, executed and practised industrial biotechnology can be proved the largest sector in comparison to Agricultural and medical biotechnologies or sectors. Industrial biotechnology is referred to as the Third wave in Biotechnology. According to the

Biotechnology, at its simplest is technology based on biology – it employs the use of cellular and bimolecular processes to develop products and technologies. The variety of living cells used for their biochemical talents range from simple singled-cells bacteria and yeast to complex multi-cellular organisms, such as plants and humans. Over the years, biotechnology has been a rapidly developing area of science that seeks to improve living conditions for all people across the world. Although the word biotechnology carries modern connotations, humans have used biological processes involving microorganisms for thousands of years in aiding the production of food products. A few of the most prominent and areas of science that utilises biotechnology are; cloning, IVF and stem cell research.…

The major group of substances found in living cells are carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. Carbohydrates are used as nutrients for cells, cellular respiration, provide energy for the body to function and live off, give structure to cell walls and store glucose. Lipids are a structural component of cell membrane and modulator of cell activity. Proteins regulate the immune system and signal pathways. Nucleic acids are used for the growth…

“Biotechnology is the use of living things to make or change products. It is both an ancient art and a modern science with applications across different sectors.” – CSIRO. Biotechnology contains the special chemicals of living cells, from single-celled bacteria and yeasts, to multi-cellular organisms for human purpose. The word ‘biotechnology’ is modern though humans have been using biotechnology to staple foods and beverages for a very long time. It can be used to help cure several different diseases though the same biotechnology can also increase chances of abnormalities to humans. Biotechnology is a huge influence for the future of humans and plays an important role in sustaining human life. The three popular aspects of biotechnology are IVF, Gene Therapy and Cloning and will be covered in relation to the future of us humans.…

Life is defined as a characteristic that distinguishes that have signaling and self sustaining processes from those that don’t. If an organism can perform certain functions such as movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excretion, and nutrition, it is classified as a living organism. Life began from the basic building block of all living things, called cells. All organisms derived from single celled organisms. Cells are the basic building blocks of life and are found in all living things. For example, a group of cells would form a tissue, a group of tissues would form an organ, a group of organs would form an organ system an a group of organ systems would form an organism.…

According to the Indian draft National Biotechnology Development Strategy -2014, modern biotechnology is defined as “The application of Science & Technology to living organisms as well as parts, products and models thereof, to alter living or non-living materials for the production of knowledge, goods and services”. The field of biotechnology is revolutionizing the development of products, processes, and services in various fields. Institutes or laboratories usually conduct basic research which enhances the already existing scientific knowledge and can be further exploited for commercialization. Modern biotechnological research has a long gestation period. The phase from development stage to commercialization stage varies and accordingly the need of institution or private/public sector varies. The stages include basic research resulting in research leads; evaluation of research results; product and process development; commercial exploitation and dissemination in the market. When successful biotech products (new technologies) are transferred not only the innovators get recognition but the industry to whom it is transferred gets recognition and can bring a change in economy of the country. It also provides better facilities thereby largely benefiting the population of the country.…
