We have hoped that this product will gain a target market of woman and young girls. This decision was reached after doing market research; we did questionnaires asking people if there was a new product in the market, what kind of product they would want the most. Our questionnaire and field research were directed specifically at woman and we found out 90% of the woman would like a lipstick as they like to look presentable when they go out. The extensive research that we did showed us that woman buy lipsticks a lot more than other products. It was important for us to do market research when we come up with the product idea because market research helps you know the market and the people you will be working with. It also helps make decisions about pricing, promotion, product and location. With market research you are able to understand how your products or services fit your target market and also to gain information about how your competitors and customer needs in order to meet them.…

M·A·C Cosmetics, Makeup Artist Cosmetics, was founded in Toronto, Ontario, Canada by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo in 1984. The first U.S M·A·C store opened in 1991, in New York, Long before their company history, MAC cosmetics founders directed their product line towards professionals in the beauty and fashion industry who had to rely on heavy cosmetics, cake makeup and stage makeup to create the visual effects needed to withstand bright lighting during photo shoots. Who better to rise up to this demand than a fashion photographer? With a glamorous image and a celebrity endorsed product line, MAC cosmetics took the beauty industry by storm. Finally the novice makeup artist could create special effects without the use of stage makeup. The average city gal could create an urban look that was wearable from nine to five with evening cocktails after hours, and brides finally had a cosmetic line they could rely on to capture beautiful wedding photos.…

I’m a typical 29 year old woman. I like to shop, dress up, and go out. I am not very materialistic, but when it comes to make-u, I am 100% on the MAC bandwagon. Why? MAC markets their products, not through the media, not through the magazines. As a matter of fact MAC does not advertise. Their word of mouth advertisement is enough to keep clients coming back. MAC is always finding ways to market their product through ways other make-up companies don’t normally do. For instance, MAC mails their clients post cards to come view their new line of make-up. They email their clients the latest events they are doing. And the best marketing concept they have, are at the MAC stores and counters. They play loud music, catching to the young adults. The employees are always gorgeous, and are always ready to try their newest technique or line in you, the client that’s walking by.…
