You see your friend at school and he tells you how is my hair what do you do lie or tell the truth.
Some people lie just to protect others and their feelings. I believe lying is only acceptable when it can be used to protect and care for others.
Lying can help protect feelings of others. For example, in the article, “it’s the truth” by NBC news Randy cohen states that “some people lie to protect someone from serious harm.” This shows that cohen lies just to protect people’s feelings. This is important because cohen likes to lie but he uses it in a good way. For example, in the article lies, lies, lies, by paul gray it states that the military and intelligence officials will as a matter of routine lie to protect secret plans or agents at risk. This shows that the military protect their secret plans so they won't die.,what I mean by this is the military is lying to protect each other so they won't die. In conclusion I believe lying is ok only when it's used to protect others.

For example in the article, lies, lies, lies, by Paul gray it states that lying to protect can literally be a matter of life or death. Anne Frank survived as long as she did because those sheltering her and her family lied to the nazis. This shows that Anne Frank and her family saved each other from a dangerous situation. To put it another way is Anne Frank and her family lied to save each other. For example, in the article, tell the truth by Barbara Ballinger it states that we shouldn't manipulate the truth except for rare times if you're hiding Anne Frank in your attic because her life is in danger. This shows that someone put Anne Frank in her attic because her life was in danger. To put it in another way is someone lied to save Anne Frank’s life. In conclusion, I believe lying is ok for saving someone's

Lying is unacceptable as it is morally wrong. For example, Truthfulness are statements which cannot be avoided is the duty of a duty of a person to everyone, however bad the disadvantage.(Kant, 4) The people have a duty to not lie no matter the reason, like to protect people from emotional pain. Kant believes that there are no excuses for lying, except I believe lying is ok to protect someone from death. In addition, “a lie, even if it does not wrong any individual, always harms mankind individually.”(Bok,4) Lying hurts the morality of mankind because it makes…

Cohen states in article 1 “ If you’re on the way to an awards ceremony, you say, you look fabulous” For example you wouldn’t want to hurt your friends feelings so you would tell them a lie to keep them from misunderstanding. Marianna states in article 4 that “We would pretend to call each other’s homes and be the teacher. Almost everyone has lied at one point in their lives. Some lies may be big and others small but they still tell the lie. Most people only lie to make their stories sound better. For example, war veterans love to tell their stories and the stories they tell are usually exciting and wouldn’t need to lie when they are telling their stories or at least one would believe they are not lying about the stories they are telling. According to Tim O’Brien in one of his many stories he clearly states that to tell a true war story you have to lie. O’Brien is a Vietnam War veteran, who after the war becomes a writer and writes stories about his experiences he had during the war. Most of the times he writes stories that are mostly lies just so he can make the truth in those…

Lying destroys trust amongst people and results in lost prestige. When trust is lost, it is difficult to earn it back because we tend to assume that a person who has lied once will lie to us again. We then start to put our defences up against that person in order not to be deceived once again. Not only that, sometimes, we also tend to bear a grudge for long periods of time and it takes a while before the person who lied is forgiven, that is, if we ever choose to forgive and forget. The…

The debate over the acceptability of lying is a complicated one. Some feel that it is morally wrong and only ever worsens a situation. Others feel that it is acceptable in cases where feelings could be hurt, or if a person’s self-esteem may be lowered. However, there are instances in which lying happens simply to avoid the consequences of a person’s actions, and most would agree that it is morally wrong. Instead of going back and forth between “lying is wrong” and “lying is okay sometimes,” a better use of our time would be learning to improve our honesty with ourselves and with the people around…

Lies have been around for as long as people have been. We all lie, whether it is to protect someone we love of to cover up something we don’t want others to know about, it is still lying, and we all do it everyday. Lying has become the new normal for our modern society, so much so, that some of us have lost our morals completely. It is just so much easier and quicker to just lie to someone than to tell the truth, and now you can never tell who is lying to you or who is telling the truth. People use to have morals about lying and many people would feel bad about it and teach their children to never lie, but now in today’s society they just pop out of our mouths like they're nothing. We will never stop lying because it’s easier to live a lie than it is to tell the truth, because the truth might come with consequences, but so does lying.…

First off let me start of by saying that we lie. We all do. We exaggerate, we leave out things, we avoid confrontation, we try to be inconsideration of other people feelings, we conveniently forget some aspects of the truth and even keep secrets. Like most people, I find myself in situations of small falsehoods and still think of my self of an honest person. Sure I lie, but it’s not really bothering anyone or anything.…
