Style and tone are some of the fundamental devices used in poetry to make the piece interesting. The style refers to the writer’s use of sentence structure, diction, rhythm, and diction. By style, the writer is able to arrange the words to achieve a particular effect. In this respect, the writer must ensure that all the effects are within the context to make the actual meaning to the intended readers. Tone, on the other hand, refers to the writer’s expression of attitude and feelings towards his or her readers. By tone, the readers are able to understand the mood of the story. Both the styles are important in this study to demonstrate their usages in a piece of literature.
