Lupe had a lot of obstacles in her way of becoming a successful professor. First, she doesn't understand or read English so she was known as retarded. when she first go to school she was put in a class of six years old. She would always make fun of by the other children because she's a lot older than them. She would get humiliated by teachers or students. Lupe had struggled with English and also her children were put in a slow learner. They use Spanish in the family so her kids didn't understand much of English. Lupe overcame all these obstacles by never given up. She always would go to different schools to learn English by always got rejected, but her persistence would never end.
