The four passengers were on their way home early Thursday morning after attending a high school party. Luis Delcid-Cardona, aged 19, was the intoxicated driver, Jonathon Rivas, aged 19, was in the front passenger seat and two recently graduated high school students, Samantha Belliveau, aged 20, and Nicole Rodriguez, aged 18, were sitting in the back seats when tragedy struck. Early morning around 1:09am, the intoxicated driver, Luis, struggled to maintain directional control and slammed into a tractor-trailer. The driver fled the situation on foot leaving his three best mates there at the scene. The two female backseat passengers one of whom was completely outside of the car when police arrived and the other, who was partially ejected from the vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
