Her knowledge and experiences of using different languages that are forms of Spanish, give us reason to listen to her. When she lists the different languages she uses and Spanish phrases she appeals, she appeals to anyone who has had difficulty with language struggles. The two explosions that tore through the Boston Marathon nearly two years ago were like the second starting gun on April 15, 2013, a race against time to identify and capture the terrorists responsible. Bostonians were relived after an extensive manhunt ended in the apprehension of the Boston Marathon suspects, but which raised a host of legal issues including the potential consequence of authorities’ decision not to read Tsarnaev his Miranda rights, how might he be charged due to skewed media bias, and whether his case would be moved outside Boston to ensure a fair trial. The importance of these issues answer many controversial questions regarding the reach of the ambiguous legal system.…

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a popular and promising student, was asked and somehow convinced by his brother, Tamerlan, to drop off a package at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon. It reminds one of Cole MacGrath from the popular Play Station 3 inFamous, where the bike courier obliviously delivers a package that turns out to be a bomb. Dzhokhar’s brother, Tamerlan, was practically insane. He had been planning the bombing for months before. Soon after the FBI announced them as suspects, the brothers supposedly murdered an MIT police officer, hijacked a Sport Utility Vehicle,…

I never experienced death first-hand, nor has death happened abruptly in our immediate family but I have seen the damage that it leaves on people. Nothing is guaranteed, except that we will all eventually die and it is a scary thought for many people. Somehow, the fact that we unfortunately can’t avoid death makes us all want to avoid it even more. Although, once you find the courage to acknowledge it death will become real, and then all you have to do is deal with the emotions that comes with it. Some people may feel that they can avoid it but you can’t pretend that death has never happened because that person is really gone. I will discuss a few instances where I had to cope with losing some things close to my heart. Although it is a terrible feeling, I can honestly say that I learned a great deal from each circumstance.…

    Love and Person

Love has a definition—a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person—but yet has so many different meanings. Thesauruscoping demonstrates the different meanings in which the word Love can deliver. The synonym of Love, Adoration, does not necessarily mean that these words have the same meaning. The definition of Adoration is the act of paying honor, as to a divine being or to worship. These words can be isolated from each other by meaning because they are two different descriptions. Love is an emotion and Adoration is a way of acting towards another. For example, there may be someone who loves to go to church every Sunday, being a part of their daily routine, but has adoration for God, meaning to worship and pay honor to what they believe in. The antonym for Love, however, does not have to be opposite but can have the same meaning as Love. An antonym for Love is Jealous meaning inclined to or troubled by suspicions or fears of rivalry, unfaithfulness, as in love or aims. These two words can have the same meaning, for example, a boy and a girl are head-over-heels in love with each other but the boy may have feelings for another person leaving the girl extremely jealous. This demonstrates that jealousy is expressed in love because the girl would not have been jealous unless she undoubtedly loved the boy. Thesauruscoping can show that a meaning of a word can be expressed in many different ways.…

Throughout the course of African history there has been a significance contribution to the art of the different cultures. After reading and studying about various regions and cultures the similarities and differences all seem to link to a fascinating group of people. Exploring different groups of objects and cultures broadened my knowledge of particular traditions within the African culture. Visiting an actual exhibition contributed to a deeper level of understanding with the visual aids in close reach at the museum. I visited the Brooklyn Museum‘s African art exhibition and was very impressed and pleased with my findings. The group of objects that I focused on were made of the same material, and also derived from Mali. Two of the pieces I am focusing on are from the same culture, and the other is from a different ethnic groups.…

This excerpt from Love and Marriage is a relatable comedy by Bill Cosby that draws people together through relatable experiences. He tells us of his first love Charlene, and how he fell in love with her, she dumped him, and then he went on a mission geared towards revenge. It’s delightfully comical to read his reminiscing and retelling of how clever he thought himself to be. We can all relate in some way to this naïve perception of love. This is how Bill Cosby shows people how much they have in common while emphasizing how hurt pride can lead one to resort to crazy things.…

Ever wonder why so many happy marriages become failed marriages? Love plays a big part of failed and happy marriages. Happy marriages are hard to obtain and keep in this day of age. Marriage is defined as “an intimate or close union” by Merriam Webster. Marriage has been used for mutual benefit, personal benefit, or just the simple uniting of a couple in love. Happy marriages seem to be rare now with the stress of jobs, life’s struggles, or just the simple temptations that can tear a marriage apart and even the lack of love.…
