Introduction of Single Mothers
Being a single mother is a testimony in itself. Today in the United States this is more of a norm then ever before. Woman are having children outside of wedlock, adopting on their own, having procedures done without husbands, etc. Why is this becoming the norm in the current generation and the up and coming? “Woman used to be afraid, or ashamed to become being a single mother, now this is a norm”(Alvare, H. 2009). In result of all of the readings and research done on this topic the goal is to allow people to have the understanding of what it means to be a single mother and the struggles behind it. There are always pros and cons in any situation, but what changes could be implemented behind the findings in the research is to help single mothers and children have the opportunities to not become a statistic because of their direct living situation.
