Maricel Q. Igtanloc
For President
Students’ Humane Organization for Upliftment and Transformation Party
(SHOUT)

“Public office is a public trust.”
Fellow students and candidates, respected teachers, faculty, visitors, ladies and gentlemen, let us be delighted for this day is another gift from the Supreme Being, and for this reason, I am extending to you my warmest greetings of a good and blessed morning.
Every educational institution is a significant body in itself and in this regard, a council of students, not only of school faculty, is needed to maintain harmony and camaraderie among the members of the institution. Before I start off, having said a lot already, I would like to introduce myself. I am Maricel Q. Igtanloc, a third year presidential candidate under the banner of the Students’ Humane Organization for Upliftment and Transformation (SHOUT) Party for the forthcoming Supreme Student Government (SSG) Election S.Y. 2012- 2013. For the information of everyone, I am a transferee and I enrolled here during my second year. However, within my two academic years of stay in the Central Panay College of Science and Technology (CPCST), I have already been enamored with the school’s friendly environment, my friends, my classmates, my colleagues and teachers. Being persevered to win the presidential seat, I cannot deny the fact that I am still one of the student body, being one of it is to be ordinary, yet competitive and smart. With these characteristics, I was able to observe some things that are needed for the school’s improvement. Facility- wise, our school has enough of it. Teachers are excellent and active in all of their fields. To sum up, CPCST, as a whole, is already conducive for learning and is already competent; because of these these aspects, our party is now striking and accelerating for the achievement of our conventioned nationalistic but school- based goals, but what are these goals? 1. We are aiming for academic upliftment through competitions such as, MTAP, Mathematics and Science Quiz Bowls, Campus Journalism, reading competitions, orations, scout encampments, sports fests and the like. Our mark to be hit is to uplift the name of the school regionally and nationally through better performances in the said competitions. 2. We are into the promotion and activation of minor organizations like the Youth for Environment in Schools (YES) Organization, Student Technologists and Entrepreneurs of the Philippines (STEP) Organization, glee clubs, classroom orgs and mother clubs within the school. 3. We also look forward to an active participation in individual and organizational seminars when the student body is so concerned, as well as when it is of great importance and is a requirement of the school. 4. We will effectively implement the school’s rules and regulations. 5. We will listen to every student’s concern and feedbacks, may it be negative or positive, thus, can help us improve our performance as student leaders and performers. 6. Lastly, we will maintain the camaraderie, peace, honor, integrity and excellence among everyone in the name of God as the Ultimate Provider and Protector in all our endeavors.

We know that to be in the positions that we are running for, if ever, the votes would favor us as we wish, is not an easy job. It requires skills, wit and intelligence for us to perform our obligations to the students and to the school. We believe and we are confident enough to say that we possess those. My dear listeners, having presented our goals, I, now, would like to introduce my party members.

*Note: After introducing every party member, let them deliver their speeches. (or depende sa strategy nyo. Hehe). Right after everyone has already spoken, continue your speech.

(Speech continued…)
So, they are my fellow members under the SHOUT Party. If you believe that we deserve to win, please vote for us without second thoughts because as early as today, we are more than willing to serve you. Rest assured that whatever we have told this morning/ afternoon, we will fulfill it. We will not fail your expectations for we will give our very best and we’ll not be stagnant just within the scope of promising. We will perform and be active in everything we will do today and in the future for the common good. Having heard our agendas, I hoped you, guys, have successfully assessed our capabilities, but before we end this, I would like to tell you that we will not run if we do not have the abilities to serve. Anyway, public service is not measured in one’s capacities, but it is weighed in his/ her determination, sincerity, willingness, and perseverance to be of account to everyone. Ability plus determination equals SHOUT party!
We would like to leave you with these words of wisdom by Stephen R. Covey :
"An empowered organization is one in which individuals have the knowledge, skill, desire, and opportunity to personally succeed in a way that leads to collective organizational success."
Once again my dear listeners, I am Maricel Q. Igtanloc running for President under the banner of the Students’ Humane Organization for Upliftment and Transformation (SHOUT) Party. If you want a more efficient and better student government, please vote straight and vote wisely. To vote wisely is vote SHOUT Party!
Thank you and good morning! God bless our ways!

At the meeting, the decision was made to utilize detailed design and engineering specifications so as to obtain competitive bids on the project. The executive committee required completion of the building within twelve months since the new facility would allow for production necessary to meet a new government contract. The contract was of vital importance to Peach since it would yield additional net income of $4,000,000 annually. Within 2 months after the meeting, Don issued a request for proposal using the recommended specification method with a specific construction time of 9 months. Four proposals were received. Don reviewed them quickly since he had 3 weeks to award the project and execute a contract.…

This is Vanesha Winningham, owner and CEO of Pollcypian Insurance Services. I’m sure you are aware of the many years this company has been contracted to clean for our company. Your company has gotten great reviews from us in the past, but within the last year your service has been far from the usual. When I come in each morning, offices are not cleaned thoroughly; there are many of your chemicals left in some of our busiest hallways, and several other messes throughout my business. I have contacted you several times upon the matter and although you assure me the job will be done correct next time, your company still keeps falling up short. The final straw was on last Friday when your night cleaning shift left our office unlocked. From midnight to 8 AM my facility was susceptible to break-ins, which at this point, I cannot risk happen.…

    1. Updike arranges details artfully in order to set the story in a perfectly ordinary supermarket. His description of the appearance of the supermarket itself offers a vivid image. Updike talks about a girl in a bathing suit “in the cool of the A & P, under the fluorescent lights, against all those stacked packages, with her feet padding along naked over our checkerboard green-and-cream rubber-tile floor” (14). This offers the perfect description of a modern supermarket. The way in which Updike describes the three girls walking down the aisles adds to the supermarket image. Updike explains, “The fat one with the tan sort of fumbled with the cookies, but on second thought she put the packages back. The sheep pushing their carts down the aisle” (14). The author adds to the illustration with a description of this consumer, whose approach and actions reflect those of any supermarket customer.…

“Tree Climbing,“ by student. Tree Climbing is a descriptive essay in which the author uses figurative language, contrast imagery, parallel sentences, concrete details, sensory details and many more different rhetorical terms throughout the essay. The author begins to tell describe her past childhood as a kid growing up in the house of her grandparents. It all begins in her brothers eighteenth birthday in which her brother tells the author when was the last time she had cloud pictures. Meaning when was the last time the author had any pictures of imagination that she once had as a child. In return her brother Mike reminds the author of a time when she was tree child in which her childhood was a playground of imagination and dreams. The Story then moves to the authors past. The summer trips to Milwaukee were several events took place in her grandparents house. Where the author along with her brother would spend the summer with and discover mysteries and explore dreams. The author goes on to explain how the basement inside the house along with the 7 rooms played a part in their childhood growing up. “ It was a child’s safe haven; it was a sacred place.” This quote pretty much explains and express the way the author felt about the house’s basement. The author goes on to show how empires were created in this gloriously secure basement as she states. The story then shifts to the present in which the author is now 17 and is returning once again to her grandparent’s house to help them pack. However, the house in which where dreams were created is no more. “ My kingdom up for sale.” The author finds her self stripped away from old childhood as she sees nothing but trash and leftovers of a house that she once knew. The basement was the author’s tree. The foundation of her dreams and memories. “ That last summer I found myself, much to Mike’s disappointment, quite mature, quite…

The deaf community believes a deaf person's ability to live a full and meaningful life is not compromised by his or her deafness, so the suggestion that cochlear implants provide advantages over a deaf lifestyle is shortsighted and insensitive. Many deaf people deal very well with their deafness, learning sign language and lip reading and adapting their work and home environments to accommodate their loss of hearing. Another controversy surrounding cochlear implants and the deaf community is the safety and effectiveness of the procedure. Cochlear implants may be viewed as disrespectful and insulting, since the medical community views deafness as a handicap which must be treated or corrected. Most people do not want to have cochlear implants they are afraid of hearing the world around them. Most of the time these controversial issues build up when the person is an adult and has spent most of their time being deaf and now have all those concerns about the cochlear implants.…

The jazz concert I attended took place in Fullerton College Theater on November 13, 2012. The Fullerton College Jazz Big Band and J- Train vocal jazz was very organized and well structured. The first song was the Open Invitation which was performed by the J- Train Vocal Jazz. The song was so interesting because the soloists had great voices. Everyone around seemed interested and amused. The J- train vocal jazz also performed the songs “Nancy McFlannery’s Cannery”, and” Fugue in D Mirror”. My personal favorite by the J-Train Vocal Jazz was “Everyone’s Boppin’” because in the beginning of the song the vocalists scat. In the performance two soloists scat at least one time, and the rest of the choir performers sing the chorus. The beat of the song was fast and the instruments that got a solo were guitar and piano. The guitar and pianos solo were amazing because you could see the relationship the soloist had with its instrument which was extremely passionate. The next song performed was “Big Brown Eyes” which was slow and full of patience. The vocalists sing bebop most of the time, and there are four soloists, the drums are just tapping, and the whole tempo of the song is slow. The big band also performed “The Keystone Shuffle”, the instruments being used were drums, bass, guitar, piano, trombone, and then there was a section of the song where the saxophone players battle each other .Both of the saxophones were going at a very fast beat. The next song performed was “Out of Town” which starts with the drums and guitar as bass. The saxophone player joins in and the whole band starts to plays together. They were all on point with each other which made the song easy to listen to. The piano, the saxophone had individual solos and in between the song there was interaction between the two. The concert was very entertaining; I really enjoyed the J-Train and Big Band. Everyone around seemed to enjoy it as well. It was sweet of the big band to dedicate the…
