The book “Lord of the Flies” and the show “Lost” have a lot in common, such as the setting of the stories and what the characters did for survival. In both of the stories the characters got into a plane crash and landed on a deserted island. In LOTF there’s a fat guy named “Piggy,” and in Lost there’s a fat guy named “Hurley.” And a big similarity about both of the stories is that there is deaths on the islands. In Lost, there’s a character named Marshal Edward Mars, who gets severely injured during the crash and has to use a lot of antibiotics to stay alive but none of them are working. So the leader, Jack, is trying to keep him alive when he comes to the realization that Mars is gonna die anyway. Mars already knows that he doesn’t have a lot of time to live. So to put him out of his misery, Sawyer shoots Mars but misses the heart but makes his death sooner to come. I don’t really think his death was an accident nor a murder, because he knew he was gonna die and he did want to be put out of his misery. Sawyer made a stupid decision to try and shoot at his heart knowing he only had one bullet. So therefore his death was uncivilized. But if anybody is to be guilty, it would Sawyer and Jack. This character is called Piggy because he’s fat and all the other boys make fun of him. Piggy dies on the beach also in a first degree murder during a storm by getting smooshed by a giant rock that Roger had let fall on him. Roger is fully guilty for Piggy’s death and Ralph is the most innocent. Piggy was standing beside Ralph on the beach and Roger was overhead near the giant rock, when Roger suddenly put all his weight on the “lever” which is symbolized as his force that he put into the rock that kills Piggy. And the giant rock smashes Piggy to death. This was a civilized death because Roger had to have thinking about killing him to have put all of his force into pushing off the rock to kill
