The title of the book
Looking For Alaska suggests that the characters in the book were looking for Alaska in a metaphorical sense. This story is about Miles, a 16­year old boy who is shy and lonely, he has no friends. He decided to move to Alabama and enroll in Culver Creek Preparatory School, hoping to change his social life. He befriends the Colonel, Alaska, and Takumi, they introduce him to the social order of campus, smoking, drinking, and mischief. Miles develops feelings for Alaska, even though she has a boyfriend she still flirts with Miles. I have experienced a death of a relative, my aunt died in a fatal car accident, so Miles and I have something in common.
He lost his best friend and I lost my aunt, both in a car accident.
I liked the book a lot, it pulled me in with everything that was happening throughout the story. It also touched on my feelings, with Alaska dying and in the beginning with Miles being the way he was. My favorite part in
Looking for Alaska was at the end, when Pudge finds out that Takumi let Alaska go and how it isn't just Pudge's fault, he realizes that no single person could have saved her and Pudge comes to terms with that. If I could change anything it would be the details on Alaska’s and Miles relationship and how they felt about each other.
I would recommend this book to another person, it made me feel an entirely different way about life. It made me not want to take life for granted and to accomplish everything you want to do in life, because anything could happen to you and you
