What are my short-term and long-term goals? As I have grown in age they tend to change and become more developed and mature. A personal long-term goal of mine is to live a healthy life. It sounds simple but can be a little challenging at times. A personal short-term goal for me is to be a little more organized. I think I say short-term because eventually I don’t want it as a goal but part of my routine in life. I also feel like planning is a big one on my long-term goals. A big short-term is being spontaneous not all the time but being ready at times when things are just thrown your way and handle it like it was planned.…

My short term goals include getting my Capstone Diploma, maintaining good grades in my academics, striving for success, and graduating high school. Striving for success is essential as well as graduating high school, but I feel like they are less daunting than the other two short term goals I have. Getting my Capstone Diploma will be a challenging road. It is not easy to achieve what the College Board requires for in that class, but I know that both the teacher and my determination will guide me through in order to accomplish my goal. And as for maintaining good grades in my academics I will have to turn in everything on time and study the material given in the course in order to grasp my goal. For long term goals I want to become a successful electrical and computer engineer. I know this goal will not be easy, but I feel like I have the determination and confidence that it takes to reach my…

Is it smart to set goals before college? ‘‘About half of all students who start college don’t finish. Roughly one quarter of freshmen drop out before sophomore year,’’ according to Career Prep Academy. Twenty-five percent of freshmen’s in college drop out before their next year in college. Students drop out for many reasons and one of these being not setting goals for themselves, many students might believe that setting goals is creating a path to failure and unrealistic dreams, but in contrast setting goals helps students stay on the path to completing college. By setting goals and measuring their achievements, students are able to see what they have done and what they are capable of, it helps them to stay focused on their path by guiding them on what they ought to achieve in life.
