Logline: Paula, who uses marijuana to cope with PTSD, fails to keep her town’s only dispensary open, but finds love and renewed purpose. Paula, mid 30’s and a war correspondent, returns to her hometown seeking treatment for PTSD. She lives with her middle-aged mother Maxine. Paula attends a support group led by the town’s psychiatrist Dr. Walters in his early 60’s. There, she meets ex-US Army medic Hector, mid 30’s. After several months, Dr. Walters reveals his covert marijuana dispensary and begins providing marijuana to Paula. Paula’s life improves. One night, Maxine finds marijuana in Paula’s room and the two argue. Maxine calls her friend Sonja, the town’s sixty-something conservative district attorney. Paula flees to warn
