Living Life as It Comes
"Living life as it comes" is one of my philosophies. Since my early childhood, I remember taking chances over stuff and putting my best effort to make it a success. In short, I prefer describing myself as an "optimistic" and perhaps "a real dreamer".
Talking about my hobbies, I enjoy dancing, singing, watching movies, hanging out more with my loved ones and shopping. Among all "music" is something that I really can't live without. During leisure times, especially when I'm alone, I even sing along to some music tracks and yes whenever I'm feeling low I love to shop with my siblings and friends. Besides, I also enjoy trying out new things cause you only get to live once and life's too short to waste it doing the same thing. I believe that "Life's isn't always a bed full of roses". And if you want to make it one, then you have to do things that you have never done before. And so I decided to fly overseas to complete my studies and most importantly to live an independent life and enjoy every moment it has to offer. Moving here is one of the most daring choices I've ever made and well I'm not going to lag behind. In my opinion nothing is really impossible so no matter how bleak the chances look we should never give up hope. Since no one can ever be a hundred percent certain of something. Even if you plan something from a long time ago there is no guarantee you’re going to be able to do that thing. Therefore, at least for me life is all about taking chances and giving your best. If you do these things good things will come to you eventually.

Thoreau has stated that he “wishes to live deliberately”. Although I had thought about what is my purpose of living, I didn’t get a consequence of how should I really achieve it. Since I was in middle school, I decided to study Mass communication in my future. I like media; I like the way people press news and make connections for all over the world. But after I read Thoreau’s opinions of our life, I just realized that I have to do something for my goal. To conceive what your life is going to be is an important element of living deliberately. I have to make plan about how do I achieve my goal; I have to pay more attention on the details of my life in order to achieve my goal.…

We will never know for sure how our destiny is defined, whether in an impersonal way or by our own decisions. A few years ago, I believed that my life would take the course that would lead me to success. With my eyes closed, I decided to try it and came to the US. Leaving everything behind in my beloved Colombia, I ventured into an unknown and surely uncertain world. Over the years, and analyzing both the past and the present, today I can say that I made the best decision. Adventurous and spontaneous. As it’s always said, “Living the American Dream,” now that is what I want to achieve in my lifetime here on planet Earth. To live; even if it is broken, to feel joy, even if it is overrated and annoying, and to pray; even if you are at your highest point in life. Starting this ‘dream life’ is when you lay down your life, only to get back up again. I'm living this life, before I am too grey and old, or too fragile and immobile, with all the strength, time, and ability that I have now. Sending postcards upon postcards to my family and friends from all over the world- maybe even have some of them to come with me. What’s a good trip, if you take it by yourself? I found love, and a family; however that is not an excuse for me to stop living this life. No dream is too big nor too small, you want it, go get it. The only thing that will ever hold you back is the reflection in the mirror that you make every morning and night. This, I believe, is constantly living life. But, hold up! Don’t hang on every glorious word I speak of, being misguided is one of the most common and terrible things the world has to offer you. The world is a tough place, but you are tougher. Instead, walk God’s path that is how you survive this thing called the never-ending-world. Look left, instead of right, go fast instead of slow, and breathe deeply, not…

People say life is all about facing new challenges. In 2008 my life changed for good when I moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic means so much to me. It’s a part of my life, my identity and my race. For me it was the hardest challenge I had to face in my life. I couldn’t believe how that one flight meant so much for my family and I. I was so young coming with my two sisters and my father, leaving my mother and most of my family members behind. Everyday life has gotten more challengeable since that big role that my father and my older sister had to play because of my mother’s absence. It was never an easy process at 10 years old and not speaking the language made it even harder. But everything comes for good, and here I’m now waiting for my next big challenge “college”.…

How should we live our lives? This question is the most confusing question that many of people lost there lives trying to answer. Many philosophers, sociologists and thinkers consumed many years trying to put theories, concepts, and norms to guide others to the most efficient way to live. One thing I had discovered is that life is easier than many people think you should have to open your eyes and start to enjoy life, instead of trying to explain it. This book will not be a guide or a path for others to answer the question. It is going to be a way to help others to stop thinking about life and to start living the real life.…

Eng 101 0783 This is a new start for me and is a new chapter in my life. I have started to pick up the pieces and put my life together again. For this reason I can seriously relate to both of them. In the case of Hodgins he was really scared that the reality of if he didn’t make something of himself and get an education he would ultimately live a miserable life and have nothing to show for himself. That within itself is a very realistic and scary feeling for most people .Hodgins at that time felt he had to do something. It got to the point that all the kidding around and taking life as joke was coming to an end permanently. I too feel like him and I know that I have to do something for myself because I don’t have many years left before, my youngest son is going to be off to college. Then what am I going to do with myself? I can’t just Sit in the window and watch everybody else in the neighborhood continue on with their lives. I don’t think so! I too have decided to take a stand and put my fears behind me and march on .Just like Hodgins did when he realized college was his only hope. Why can’t I like him start my life over at LaGuardia Community College?…

essence of oriental philosophy is that one should not fight for peace. It is oxymoron. War or peace can be won only by peace, and not by wars ! One should adopt the following means to live peacefully, in the world: Nurture 1. Order in one’s life (self-regulation, discipline, and duty). 2. Pure thoughts in one’s soul (loving others, blessing others, friendly, and not criticizing or hurting others by thought, word or deed). 3. Creativity in one’s head (useful and constructive). 4. Beauty in one’s heart (love, service, happiness, and peace). Get 5. Good health/body (physical strength for service). Act 6. Help the needy with head, heart, and hands (charity). Service to the poor is considered holier than the service to God. 7. Not hurting and torturing others either physically, verbally, or mentally. The following are the factors that promote living, with internal and external peace: 1. Conducive environment (safe, ventilated, illuminated and comfortable). 2.
