Little Known Island of Borneo
During the last school holiday,my family and Iwent to a little known paradise on the Island of Borneo. We spent a wonderful vacation at Tanjung Simpang Mengayau,a cape in the nothermost tip of Borneo. We met our guide in Kota Kinabalu and he took us by four wheel drive car.And it tooks us about 30 minutes to the cape. The road we took had potholes and was uneven but suprisingly it was a smooth ride because our guide was an exellent driver when it comes on rough road.Mid way on our journey we notice a giant broze globe. We get down from the car and did some exploring and read about the history of the place as well how it got it's name. After that we walk down a few steps and stand on the nothermost tip of Borneo. We enjoy the fresh breeze and saw water splashing few meters away from where we are standing. We also saw an island at the distance and there was a lighthouse on it.An hour later, our guide drove us to the hotel and we had scumtuous meal and went bed immideatly due to fatigue. The next morning,we spent our day at white sandy beaches neaar the hotel. We also went snorkelling and swam in the crystal clear water. The corals were beautiful and the fish swamp up to our goggles. The underwater was extrmly breathtaking and it was really a wonderful and unforgetabble experiece. The following day our guide took us to the nearby fishing village.A fisherman on a boat ride along the coast. Then he taugt us how to catch some fish but they were very tiny so we therew them back into the sea.Soon it was afternoon the sun shining brigthly and we return to the hotel to fill our tummies and take some rest. On the final day, our guide took us to the sourveniers store along the road there. The woman manning the store sold beautiful handcraft. My parents bought a few sourveniers for relative and i bought some for my best friend too.Later our guide drove us to the airport so that we could catch a flight to Kuala

I ran outside to find one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen. The long stretch of sand was pure white and sparkled in the sun as if it had glitter mixed in with it. It almost looked like snow. The sand was hot on my feet as I walked down the beach to the water. I could hear it squeak a little with every foot step. As I…

One morning, we decided to go out with some of the guests from the hostel for a hike along the hills by the seashore. These hills were covered in thick blades of grass but had rock faces that were pointed out towards the water. If you looked to your left you’d see these hills go for miles; mound after mound, circular shaped huts with cone shaped roofs sitting on top. African trees as well, looking as if the wind was blowing all the branches to one side of the trunk but they stood absolutely still; frozen in time. To your right you’d see the ocean go out for as far as you can see, while standing on a cliff with an almost vertical drop. From looking at the cliffs from the sides, it showed the many trails descending down the cliffs made by mountain goats and every once and a while you could see one half way down; climbing up. Although our surroundings were incredible, the heat was as well. We went through several bottles of water through-out the hike. Our leader, an African local, lead us down one of the more climbable hills to the ocean floor where it was covered in rock. With the sun beating down on us we felt trapped because we couldn’t swim in the water, the waves were too strong we’d be thrown up against the rocks.…

When we finished signing in, the maid took us to our room. It wasn’t like an inside hotel, it is outside but of course we had roofs over our head. Our suite was very neat and clean. The suite had a full kitchen with a loaded fridge including pop, water, juice, champagne, wine, and beer. It had a coffee machine, glasses, a dishwasher, an oven, and a full sink. It also had a full bathroom including a vanity. The suite included a washer and a dryer. It had a balcony with a table and two lounge chairs. The living room had a flat screen T.V. with an Xbox 360 with two controllers. We had a wonderful view of the ocean where you could see people sailing and parasailing. The first thing we did was walk on the beach and ate at 1 of the 21 restaurants. There food was so good. Especially the seafood. The second day we looked around and saw 30 shops and 21 restaurants. After lunch we went to the beach. The ocean was beautiful. The color of the ocean was a light blue. It looked like a big swimming pool and not an ocean. Even when you are looking down with your head above water you can see everything. We collected a lot of pretty shells. We decided to spend the full day at the beach and it was so much fun. When you…

There once was a time that I went to cabo San Lucas Mexico with my family. The reason that this trip was so special too was because I got to spend a whole week with my grandparents, aunts and uncles and most importantly my parents. When we first got we went to are rooms and put are thing down then went right down to the pool. I can still remember the way the pool look and felt because I got cut on one of the tiles in the pool. One there reasons I liked the pool so much is you could just sit there and watch the sun set. Then the next day I went fishing on the beach that was so cool casting out a fishing line and sitting there waiting with family there beaches are so beautiful and nice like the ones you see in TV commercials. I haven’t even got to the best part they have a little cruise called sunset cruise. You rode on a pirate ship and watch people fight and watch the sun go down. I was a lot like the movie call peter pan. This little cruise was so special because in a hurry and I got locked out of my room I forgot to wear shoes so I was without shoes that whole night. There is one restraints that you have to go to when you are there I mean they have unreal food. They have huge tacos filled with anything you want with beans, rice and a side salad. I can taste it now. I also remember the time I went with my grandparents to the beach after the sun went down with one of my uncles. You have experienced nothing until that happened I mean the sand nice and cold between your toes swimming in the ocean you feel so free and wild. That is why cabo San Lucas Mexico is so special to me. I have a lot of good memories there with my…

The sand was white and the water was super clear. On the beach, people were scuba diving everywhere and my grandparents said we go if we wanted too. When we got on all our gear and got into the water, there was fish swimming around everywhere I swam. All of them were tropical fish so the fish were all different colors. The coral was sensationally close to us and so was the fish. Afterwards, my sister and I were collecting shells and paddle boarding, but we eventually potency back to the boat since we had a…

The trip was quite fun because the mountains we were by were smooth while being very massive in size. The day was sunny at start but sooned became cloudy and grey I was worried that it would rain and we would have to cancel but that wasn’t the case. When we approached the lake it was massive very massive with little waves right behind each other while the smell of the open and the lake were all around me. The lake was beautiful while fish were jumping out into the air and splashed right back into the diamond lake. When I saw this I became so excited and was filled with joy. It was cloudy and breezy but the air around us was warm and soothing like being right by a fire on a breezy day. I quickly setup the equipment and grabbed my fishing rod, acquired the bait and started to fish. While I was fishing my Nina and her husband set up right by the edge of the ramp and me and my sister were set up on the side. The dog was right at the edge and about to fall of the ramp but he just stood there staring into the endless darkness of the lake. As i was enjoying the air I felt a tug on my rod and instantly knew There was a fish at the end, I instantly started to reel in my line a was struggling just a bit, the fish was also struggling and it was determined by who had the most stamina. I reeled in my line and there was a mid to large sized fished on the line and I felt proud that I caught my first fish of the day. After a hour I caught 4 fish and felt proud of myself for actually staying a whole day outside and having fun. We decided to head to the house when it started to rain. When we arrived at the house it was already turning night so we headed in but before we did that my Nina showed me how to gut a fish, even though it was disgusting it was informational. After that the rest of the stay was very relaxing and pleasent and was glad to travel there for half of the…

Once we were at the bottom of the water I was so happy to finally see all those fishes and corals again. I checked if I had put everything correctly, once I did, we started to explore. First, we went towards an “underwater arch”, we saw tons of eels, they were swimming in between corals. When we went under the arch, there were some huge sea urchins along with beautiful starfishes. It was very cool being under the arch, there was even a little cave inside it, but it was too small to get in. When we got through the arch, I asked in “sign language” if we could go up on top of the arch. My instructor said ok. We found a little area with no coral that we could go on. Being on top was like being the king of the sea, you could see a lot from up there. I decided to “jump” off the arch. My dad was filming me with the GoPro, so I did it like if I was jumping off a diving…

I shift my eyes out to the rest of the lake. The view is breathtaking. The water is as clear as glass and looks like thousands of diamonds being thrown across a blue blanket, shimmering with sheer beauty. It’s as if I’m now in another world. With each stroke of my paddle, I gain more speed till I’m out in the middle of my lake. I come to a stop. I close my eyes and tilt my head upward toward the hot sun, as it beats down upon my skin. Sweats is dripping down my forehead. A warm breeze brushes up against my face. I look over just as a flock of birds were soaring by. Truly amazing. I start paddling again, heading swiftly towards the my favorite place, the swimming…

After dinner I drove to Tuttle Creek Lake. When I reached here, I walked on a flat road. The road ahead was hazy and sides grew tall and dense trees and lush grass, put on a little bit of green energy for the night. There was some insects chirp in the grass, which brought a little life for the night. The hung moon in the sky is so dim and the night seemed so lonely. When I walked in the secluded path, suddenly a kind of moist and fresh breath broke through in and the breath became stronger. Then I realized that the breath was from Tuttle Creek Lake. At this time, a gust of wind blew on my face and I felt I seemed to be beyond the reality and subject to any bondage no longer. I sat on a rock nearby the lake and watched Tuttle Creek Lake. Under the deep gray sky, Tuttle Creek Lake was so tolerance and endless. It looked like a big mirror in calm on the lake formed a small sky and even hold the hazy moon in the sky. But this time this moon was not hazy, it showed bright light. The calm lake covered with silvery white armor and looked like it was ready to fight. The wind blow more fierce, the lake was no longer calm under the deep gray sky and it seemed erupt. The calm lake started to flush the ripples and the bright mirror was full of cracks, finally the mirror was broken. The lake waves became layer upon layer and impacted on the rocks. At this time I sat nearby the lake, the broken waves fell on my feet. When I stood on the coast and faced the vast lake, I felt I became so small. At this time, the boredom in my heart had been taken away into the lake with the waves. The wind was still blowing, the lake under the moon accepted my unhappiness and I felt better and more comfortable.…

Next day, we were told to wake up earlier than 5:00 am to start moving according to our fixed agenda. We had quick breakfast before we went to one of the prehistoric sites in Malaysia, Gua Niah that is located in Miri. It was worth taking time as walking along the way, we were able to see some of the park's wildlife. Colourful birds, squirrels, lizards, butterflies and all manner of unusual insects and invertebrates are commonly seen. Entering the cave was one of the new experiences for most of us as we saw the official archaeological site, where it was inhabited by man for 40,000 years, and the cave was also full bats and birds, especially the Black-nest Swiftlets. After the tiring journey of what-it-seems endless walking, we heaved a sigh of relief after finally arrived to see the school bus.…
