Lincoln Town Car Observation
On Thursday, June 9, 2016 at around 8:00 pm, I, Sergeant Bever was patrolling the College Park neighborhood area. I observed several vehicles at the Pure Gas Station located at 2218 Ladnier Rd and some were playing music loud enough that could be heard over 100 feet away. I pulled into the parking lot of the gas station to address this and witnessed a black male nervously walk away from a white Lincoln Town Car parked in front of the business. A Mississippi antique tag (200664) was displayed on the Town Car and was ran through NCIC. The tag came back to a 1978 Red Buick car and registered to Joseph or Orquidea Harris of 11499 Acorn Dr, Gulfport, MS 39503. I then pulled into the car wash next to the gas station and waited for the driver to return and leave so I could conduct a traffic stop for having a switched tag.

The vehicle quickly pulled into the driveway of 2224 University Dr and the driver, Lamicheal Mitchell (DOB 6/6/1988) exited the vehicle and attempted to flee. I exited my patrol car and Mitchell a K9 warning while getting K9 Justice out of my patrol unit. Mitchell stopped and

I ordered him out of the vehicle and asked him if he had any weapons on him. Laster stated he did not and tried to put his hands in his pockets after being told not to. I removed his hands and found a black Taurus Millennium G2 pistol (Serial Number: T1075142) loaded with five 9mm bullets in his front left pocket of the shorts he was wearing. I also found a small white plastic bag containing approximately 2.5 grams of marijuana in his right front pocket. Laster was detained and placed in Officer Blevins patrol unit for being a minor in possession of a handgun and possession of marijuana at around 2003

INTRODUCTION OF THE ISSUES: Police officers were called to Mr. Smith’s residency regarding a noise violation on February 4th, 2007. Officers observed the occupants, including Mr. Jonathon Blake, through the large front window of the dwelling engaged in activity that appeared to the officers as smoking marijuana. They also witnessed Mr. Blake hand over a small plastic baggie filled with suspected cocaine to another occupant. The officers were granted access to the home by Mr. Smith and noticed what appeared to be a shotgun between the couch cushions. Further inspection of the residence revealed three additional guns. Mr. Blake had a large amount of suspected marijuana and cocaine and $400 on his person. Mr. Blake is being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm. It is in my professional opinion that the seized drugs are admissible to the court as evidence but the guns however, are not.…
