Foremost, we thank our Almighty God for having made everything in this research possible. We thank Him for His financial sustenance and continual provision of physical and emotional strength to endure sleepless nights and stress in various forms. We thank Him for His faithfulness, mercy, and grace.

Secondly, we thank our very own Professor Crina Escabarte-Tañongon for her untiring efforts in checking our works and rectifying our mishaps. We thank her as well for refining our research and writing skills and for being serious in this course; we truly appreciate her passion and dedication to create excellent scholars in us, her students. Also, we commend her ingenious and systematic module which made this course excellent. Indeed, she was very willing to extend her expertise and competence to us amateurs.

Furthermore, we thank our informants who gave time to provide us with the necessary information to make this research possible. Despite their busy schedules, they cooperated in this study and took part in the cultivation of knowledge and wisdom. Finally, we thank our parents and guardians for their continual support. Their love and guidance gave us strength to excel in this research.

In this historical research, we aimed to find the reasons behind the emergence of Lihok, the things it interacted with during its existence and the factors that led to its downfall. We theorized that it emerged due to the dissatisfaction of the UP Cebu students to the previously established socio-political party. Meanwhile, its downfall was presumed to be affected by two contending factors namely: internal and external factors.

For the process of internalizing the study, a Qualitative Approach was used. It was confirmed that due to the needs for a better service of the UP Cebu students, the organization Lihok was born. However, it did not have its own concrete and clear principles, which were supposed to serve as one of the organization’s foundation. Finally, Lihok was disbanded mainly because of its internal composition thus lack of commitment of members, lack of strategies on recruiting more members, failure to facilitate activities.
