I was quick appreciate one of the cinematography tips that used in the movie. I noticed that in the movie, the light design in most of the scene is gray, lifeless. For example dullish canteen and gloomy city. The scene transition was surrounded through this type of background which create a visual effect. At the first glance of the scene, it…
Delivering presentations to viewers, large or small, can be a daunting and anxiety-ridden task. We’re on stage, all eyes are on us, the audience has high expectations or they wouldn’t be there. Every phrase, every nuance, our expression, the tone of our voice, not to mention the content of our presentation, will be scrutinized in every possible way. How do we make sure the audience doesn’t get lost in the detail and lose focus on the overall message? Mike Agostini's "Storytelling event" focusses specifically on the purpose of delivering the high-value presentation.…
In Obarnazeks piece “Digital Moves”, the creative team incorporates heavy use of Lighting. Choreographed to be sight specific, the lighting reacts and responds to the dancer’s movements, resembling a live art piece. Gideon Obarnazek uses a lighting engineer to cleverly design a rig of lighting that creates atmosphere and symbolism. An example of this can be seen when the performers are seen centre stage, the bodies lying still on the floor as the lighting reflects bars, as if to represent a prison cell or claustrophobic space. The dancers perform within the suggested “prison cell” projection, suspended in the image. Due to the sight specific choreography, as the dancers interact and move, they choreograph the light, bringing it life and giving it purpose. This becomes a constant theme throughout the work, the continuation of dark and angsts lighting evokes fear and worry. The stage itself acts as a non-movement component in this production. The stage tilts up, providing and creating a new angle for audience members to witness, and performers to dance on. Stating that “flat is boring”, Obarnazek presents a new weightlessness to dance, breaking down the “four wall stereotype” and opening up the stage for 360 degree viewing, the constant changing matter of the stage could represent unstableness and risk with purpose to show “another level” of emotion. Music is also a non-movement component that helps to evoke…
There were not a lot of visual effects in use of this performance. During a few pieces the lights would…
Whoever worked the lights and sound needed a little work. They cut lights on early that were not supposed to be cut on. In my opinion, during the Emerald City dance sequence, I feel like there should have been color changes on the lights. When the actors named each of the colors, such as green, red, and gold, the lights should have changed. That would have added more dimension to the scene and made it better. Overall, the lighting and sounds of the show were very nice. We just needed better people working them.…
The first performance of the show was entitled “One Dance” and performed by both Junior and Senior Company, which was something I have not seen before. In sync with the bollywood music --which changed from classical to romantic and hip hop songs-- the lighting was set to transition from orange to magenta and finally pink. Something that impressed me is how they used a part of their costume as…
Some were aesthetically remarkable, such as the golden light pouring through the back door during the grandfather’s memory, while other choices were more striking. The use of fluorescent lights was the most memorable. Fluorescent lights are harsh, glaring, and ugly. They are used in office buildings, schools, and almost every public building in America. However, their use in Force Continuum had a far greater impact than imaginable. These lights were on during some of the most difficult scenes to watch, for example, when the teenage boy had been hospitalized by the police, or when the two police officers were being forced to cover up their negligence and murder. These ugly lights revealed an ugly truth about the world to each character. Both the lights and scenes were unpleasant to look at, but both necessary for seeing and…
The first group, We’re not fighting, we’re grieving (WNFWG) used many elements of drama to enhance their performance. Their first piece, Photography Stories was based around family connection and how life is so easily forgotten when the photos that once hang proudly on the wall get put away to make space for others. How memories get lost once a person is decease. I felt that the group did an amazing job at conveying the emotions throughout this piece. The photographs became a symbol of loss and death. Every time one was put in the suitcases, the audience watched a connection with family being broken because we had just watched the their characters story. While observing the characters life; being born and growing up the audience form a connection because their can relate. The group…
the spotlights really followed the actors and the light faded every time it was new day or scene .The second was that it was apparent that they didn't have sufficient time to study their lines due to the look of uncertainty that crossed their faces every time they said their lines . The lighting of the play was absolutely wonderful and it helped me know when another scene was setting so that they didn't all come into…
Get Lit was a great experience to me. I went there thinking it wasn’t going to be fun but I was wrong. It was nice seeing a lot of people dressed up and getting into the event. There was a ton of booths set up all around the student success center for everyone to go enjoy and have fun learning about literature. One of them I went to was the Wizard of Oz booth. I never have seen Wizard of Oz in many years and after talking with the people at the booth I have learned more than I ever knew. It was about a girl named Dorothy and her dog named Todo. They were hit by a tornado which landed them in a new place called Oz and there they met weird characters. They had met a Scarecrow, Lion, and a Woodman. They all became friends and went on an adventure…

Camera movement was good too, also kind of slowing down to show each and every one of the people he met in his stories. It helped everything tie together at the end.…
Opposite of the set design, I thought that the lighting could actually have been a little better. While there was nothing actually wrong with the lights, I think there was room for improvement. The lights were very simple throughout most of the play, which is sometimes good, but there could have been more color and movements with the lights to make it more exciting. The spotlight, however, was perfect. As for special effects, there was nothing noticeable besides the lights.…
The design is the play made the play the best part of the whole thing because of the color pop, which grab my attention. The set tied all of it together because of how the props and the scheme of the set was good and how it went with the overall scenes. The lights helped a lot because when the lights dim it showed that the scene was over and it was time to move the props and replace them with new ones. The lights would help when it was someone’s spotlight or when they are singing a song. The costumes help show what type of person that character is or their personality for example how Rizzo is outfit was mostly black and red which showed that she is a rebellious person and is badass. In addition, to watch out for Rizzo because of tight black leggings and her black and red top. The sound has also impact the transition of changing the set like for example the music would play when they were changing from the picnic scene but then the music starts to go low and that’s when you would know the a change of set is…
One thing i really liked about this musical was the lighting. It honestly intrigued me very much so. There were parts when the lights would dim and didn't understand why, but i soon figures out there had been a mood change among the scene and the lighting difference was needed. The lighting was colored at some points if I remember correctly, but only at the more dramatic and/or intense points which I really liked. Then at other points in the show besides the just normal lights to light up the stage, they had immense spotlights to highlight main characters and the facials of the standby…
