To begin, Burton uses lighting to create an eerie and suspenseful mood. One way that Burton does this is through low key and side lighting, for example, in Edward Scissorhands when Edward is walking through the front door towards the police, there is light coming from the side that appears on one side of his face, which gets the audience to think “what will happen next.” later, when the audience sees Edward save Kevin from being hit by Jim’s van there is low key lighting, which causes the townspeople to believe that instead of Edward saving Kevin, they believe that he is trying to kill him. This example of low key lighting is helping to create a suspenseful mood, seeing as though…

The lighting was also used to accentuate depressing or joyful moments, making it dimmer when it was a dark moment and making it bright when they were sitting outside to show a sunny day. An example of excellent lighting was when Bill was in the club and how the back was like a dance floor and he was at the bar where it was brighter and when they used two different types of lighting on the same stage which made it look realistic. The lighting overall made my experience multiple times better than it already was because I was in…

Tim Burton, in Edward Scissorhands, uses, front/back lighting to show characters emotions. For example when Edward is holding Kim, a front/back lighting on Edwards face is shown to show that he is sacred and doesn’t know what to do. This is after Edward run’s away and then comes back home to find Kim. Where then they would hug and then Kim would lay in Edward’s arms. In addition to this it was also shown in Willie Wonka. Wonka was used and it showed he was a very eerie character. Tim Burton uses front/back lighting to reveal characters emotions and to show what they are…

In the movie Casablanca directed by Michael Curtiz, lighting plays an integral part in displaying an underlying tone of what is being portrayed in the scenes. The lighting in the bar is consistently bright except when there is a spotlight focusing the viewer’s attention to a specific character. When we see the outside of Rick’s bar at night there is always searchlights roaming looking for criminals. In the Final scenes of the movie, shadows cover the eyes of Bogart letting us in on the darkness that he harbors inside.…

The company’s core concept is to bring collaborative approach to the process of filmmaking and advertising. One of their products characteristic is “realistic”. They make an advertisement but it looks like a scene of a movie. I was able to attend Lightwire and was impressed by there use of lighting, movement and sound. The story itself was told mostly through visuals, which added to the experience itself. However, I loved there use of movement throughout the show because even though there was no dialogue I was engaged and was aware of what was going on through the movements of the characters. Colors were used effectively by having the antagonist be red and the good guys green, there use of music helped a lot as well, in creating the mood of the story. For example during serious parts the music would shift right before the story would continue, making you anticipate what was about to happen. The only time I was confused as to what was happening, was when the blue…
