life without electricity
Life without Electricity
In today’s society humankind has become dependent on electricity to be able to live and function. So how would the world be if we couldn't rely on electricity? There would be no TVs, factories, cars, or even phones. Without electricity we would have to go back to our great great great grandparents’ ways of living.
To entertain themselves children would have to learn how to use their imagination. In a world without electricity there would be no video games to play or TVs to pass time away. Kids would have to go back and play outdoor games, which even in my childhood were enjoyable, like tag or hide-and-go seek. Girls instead of using their easy bake ovens will have to use their imagination and make old time mud pies.
Also there would be no factories to make necessities we use today. Rather than buying clothes from a store, the women of the household would have to hand stitch articles of clothing. People today when they want food just go out and buy prepackaged food at a grocery store; however, without electricity the men of the house would have to grow crops and raise the cattle. Opposed to what we use now if there was no electricity we would have to find a replacement for toilet paper.
When people have somewhere to go they may just get in a car, subway, or a bus. All three transportation use electricity, so without electricity you would have to saddle up your horse and ride it into town. While your car may have horsepower that doesn't mean a horse can run that fast. When you are in a car it could take you few minutes to get to your destination, but with a horse it could be an hour before you get there.
In this day and time you want to find out what is going on with a family member or friend you just call them up and talk. What if you take away electricity? You would have to travel the long distance to where they are and tell them a message. If you were lucky you could find

Electricity, what a wonderful advancement that was invented throughout history. If there wasn't electricity we wouldn't be able to power our cars, turn on our stoves, plug our phone chargers into the wall socket or even be able to turn on our artificial light when it's dark outdoors. Electricity has made a huge impact on our lives. Most people don't realize how different the world would be if Benjamin Franklin never started his kite and key experiment. The world may have never evolved into the world we live in today.…

We use electricity to get ourselves to where we need to be, but people don’t just use electricity to power the vain things in life. Some people can’t even see or hear without it. To some having electricity is the difference between life and death. Going off the electronic grid would mean many different things to different people; we lead a fast paced life. With tablets, smartphones and computers, we can use the Internet to keep in touch with everyone, everywhere and every second of everyday. Using Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, Facebook and many other social networks, a person can take a picture and, within seconds, it can be on the Internet for the whole world to see. The Internet seduces us into a world of information that separates us from human contact by alienating us from physical activities and human contact.…

What if Thomas Edison had never invented his inventions? People attempted to create the successful incandescent bulb before Edison but failed. Without Edison the lightbulb could have been made 20 years later for all we know. Without Edison the motion picture camera, phonograph and the incandescent bulb would have never been present. Without the phonograph, we probably would not have record players, early stereos, and tape…

    A World Without Tesla

The world would be different without Nikola Tesla, because had Tesla not invented the Alternating Current motor, Thomas Edison would have successfully developed and sold his Direct Current motor. In order for direct current to be used, a power source must be within a quarter-mile from the source in order to transmit electricity, instead of alternating current, which can be transmitted hundreds of miles. This being said, there would need to be an electric power plant every quarter of a mile in order to power your homes. This would not be too practical, so household power would most likely be exclusive for only wealthy individuals. The world would definitely be farther back in the progress of civilization, but direct current is used even today in cars, handheld devices, and other things.…

The modern age is an age of electricity. People are so used to electric lights, radio, televisions, and telephones that it is hard to imagine what life would be like without them. When there is a power failure, people grope about in flickering candlelight. Cars hesitate in the streets because there are no traffic lights to guide them, and food spoils in silent refrigerators.…

    World Without Electricity

I have fantasies of electricitylessness. To live in a steading somewhere, equipped with a reliable well, vegetable patch, fireplace, maybe a wood-fired Aga. Cold white wine would somehow emanate from its own spring just outside the door. Inside, it would be all porridge and patchwork quilts, padded silk hangings in progress, a chicken or two, and musical instruments, which we’d play to warm ourselves up. Yes, I would miss the ready supply of the finest music, now provided instantly by free music streaming. And washing clothes by hand would be a chore. And it’s easier to fill a hot water bottle if you’ve got an electric kettle. Many household machines, I admit, are useful — cookers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, toasters. But they take up so much space! If only they could be merged into one do-it-all mechanical slave that charges around your house vacuuming, toasting, and broadcasting non-stop. Cooks up a stew too, once it gets hot enough. Dutifully obeying the modern principle of agglomeration, it would be called an iPlod.…

Firstly, the 24 hours unplugged activity is very useful for us, it will let us know how important the electricity for us. In our life, when people wake up, brush your teeth, wash your face, watching the news and in the office, everything are inseparable with the electricity. When the electricity leaves us for one day, you can imagine how hard is it, you can not do everything. People should experience a new life, for instance, people can go to nature to be one day. People can replace the alarm, relying on the sun's rising and falling judgment time. People leave all of electricity, No television. No video games. No Internet and No cell phones. This is really hard for us. When the people experience the 24 hours unplugged, most of them will know how to save electricity. People province electricity for one day, it can save a lot of electricity for earth. Beth Brindle said: “Let's consider the example of an old VCR in the basement that draws 13 watts, all day, every day, for an entire year. Every 1 watt of power translates into just a bit less than 9 kilowatt-hours (kWh)…
