There are many different skills a person may need, or already have, to build up success in anything. 21st century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in the information age. So for the 21st century there are certain types of skills an employer would be looking for. I believe there are three types of skills that would make up the majority of what a 21st century employer is searching to find in a person for the job. These three types of skill sets would most likely be learning skills, literacy skills, and life skills. These are categories and under these categories are more defining skills. A good set of learning skills would be critical thinking, creative thinking, collaborating, and communicating. Those learning skills you would probably need in a job career such as therapy, physician, a teacher, etc. A very good set of literacy skills would be three types of it. They would be Information Literacy, Media Literacy, and Technology Literacy. Literacy is being educated so basically it’s meaning you have knowledge of that specific thing. So these uses skills would be examined by the employer of your career choice in a job such as being a teacher for any of those specifics. Or being a professor at a school who would need knowledge of those specific examples and need. The next set of these skills would be the Life Skills which it states the obvious of what they are. The types of skills that are in this category are Flexibility, Initiative, Social Skills, Productivity and Leadership. Flexibility is well known and is a skill that you need in your life for sudden or long term change. Most people will build on this skill...some better than others. Initiative is basically like being brave as in taking the first step to do or start something which is a sign of not being lazy which employers love! Social Skills are skills that a person has with people. Like, are you a people person would be a question asked in your job interview if…
