Life Orientation Training Analysis
Life Orientation training (LIFO) helps me identify my development targets and understand how they affects my work productivity. From LIFO workbook, it appears that my top priority development targets are confirming, capitalizing, moderating, and supplementing and extending. From the result of LIFO survey, I become able to know my most preferred (MP), least preferred (LP), and back-up (BU) styles. These styles classified into two main categories of favorable conditions and unfavorable conditions. My most preferred style under favorable condition is controlling taking. My most preferred style under unfavorable condition is conserve holding.
My confirming target helps me understand my blind spots under favorable and unfavorable conditions. My strengths under favorable conditions are competitive, confident, and persuasive. An example of my competitive strengths, I had gone through strong competition when I had applied to my current position as Chief Executive Consulate at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, D.C. It shows that others can most effectively influence me by giving me more responsibility and provide me with resources to allow achievement. My boss can most effectively manage me when me being confident, reward the results, and appreciate the initiatives. My employees can most effectively work for me when me being responsive and show independence. My most effective environment is competitive and risk-taking, however, my least effective environment when resources restricted and responsibilities diminished. From comparing my strength between real and ideal, I realized that I actually use my strengths on job less than I prefer to use them.
