===Take an Inventory of Your Life as It Is Now===
#Write down exactly what's wrong with your life. What areas are making you the most unhappy? Choose the area that you most want to change. For example:
#*Do you hate your love life (or lack thereof #*Are you sick of your job and desperate for a new career
#*Do you have negative family relationships that constantly drag you down
#*Do you hate your appearance and how it's affecting your health
#*Are you irresponsible with money and buried in debts?<
#Decide what you would change if no obstacles stood in your way
#*Who is your ideal partner? Or do you need some time to play the field before you can figure out what you want in a relationship?
#*What did you always want to be when you grew up? If that wish is no longer realistic, can you come close to it or pick something else that would still make you happy?
#*Do you still want to repair family relationships, or would you rather end them altogether?
#*What specific things would you change about your appearance? Your weight? Your hairstyle and makeup? Your wardrobe?
#*What does real financial health look like for you?
#Notice what is working about your life. Maybe you have been financially responsible and have savings in the bank so that you can afford to take a career risk. Perhaps you have a very supportive family
#*Which elements of your life currently work very well? Make a list of both big and small positives.
#*How can these elements of your life help you to fix the parts that aren't working? What should you keep and what are you willing to sacrifice in

In the past, I have become disconnected from my personal life because of goals that I have set for myself. For the last year, I had to balance schooling, work and sports. My life quickly went away, as I become lost in trying to balance all three with my personal life. I was unable to properly maintain any of the four, as I was trying too hard to balance them all at once. I finally decided it was time to release myself from this never ending cycle, and quit my soccer team, along with reducing my hours at work. My ambition to succeed was quickly becoming the cause of my failure.…

    A Lesson Before Dying

In A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaines, Mr. Grant Wiggins' life crises were the center of the story. Although he was supposed to make Jefferson into a man, he himself became more of one as a result. Not to say that Jefferson was not in any way transformed from the "hog" he was into an actual man, but it could be believed this story was really written about Mr. Wiggins. Mr. Wiggins improved as a person greatly throughout the novel, and that helped his relationships with other people for the most part. But as a reader it cannot be forgotten about how Grant’s attitude was in the beginning to actually see the transformation in him. Grant’s bitterness was not one to look up to in the beginning of the novel because of his former teacher’s bitterness growing up. Though this was a negative in Grant’s personality he managed to have connections with people and grow through them. For example how he taught Jefferson meaning to life and to become a man. Through this Jefferson felt he could trust showing what impact each character had on each other. In the novel each character had their own characteristics and personality. There was something special about each character in the book. Each of them had their strong points and weak points for example Grant was always running away from his problems. This showed that even though Grant did become a man from teaching Jefferson in the end; for most of the novel Grant’s bitterness impacted his life strongly that he did not cope with his adversities well.…

Every day people are treated in ways that strip them of their humanity and dignity, they are made to feel worthless. Though, one must learn their worth before they die. Through the experiences of Jefferson, Reverend Ambrose, and Miss Emma, we can view how important ones worth is to them, especially to be known before one passes away. The novel "A lesson before dying" by Ernest Gaines, exemplifies that the most significant lesson to learn before dying is that you are worth something no matter what society deems you to be, and as long as you show your humanity and dignity, it does not matter what society thinks.…

I somehow think that in the hope of being everything I am letting down from the people all around me. For me it becomes a spiral that I can’t control. Negativity never breeds anything but contempt. Nothing good can come from getting down on myself. These feeling won’t just go away when I wave a magic wand. It takes a complete overhaul of mindset my ability to see each individual tree in the forest, it means I need to slow down and celebrate what matters. So that’s what I am trying to do , focus on the little things, the everyday successes that I know are right in front of me. It requires me to look through a much different lens, one of gratitude. I have amazing people in my life. My family is a unbelievable support and they are my heart. I have colleagues and friends near and far that I can go to for almost anything I need. The first way to simplify your life is to believe in yourself because if you believe in yourself nothing shall be impossible unto you. A sense of inferiority and inadequacy interferes with the attainment of your hopes, but self-confidence leads to self-realization and successful achievement. The second way is to expect the best and get it. Every day as you confront the problems in your life, I suggest that you affirm as follows: “I believe God gives me power to attain what I really want.” Never mention the worst, never think of it. Drop it out of your consciousness. In so doing your thoughts will turn the best and become conditioned to its realization. This practice will bring all of your powers to focus upon the attainment of the best. It will bring the best to you.…
